i see it. it's almost down to the people VS the government. the moral majority is starting to lean in our favor. 20 years ago you couldn't even mention the word. 10 years ago it was discussed but still shunned upon. today i walk around everywhere blazed. over half the people i come into contact with in public are more blazed then me. it is slowly becoming acceptable. you just have to look thru the propaganda to see the truth. i see good things on the horizon.

I want to make sure everyone understands whatis happening here, THIS IS NOT GOOD NEWS. WTF, why?? What they are trying to do is make another Marinol, Satavix, type compound out of marijuana to treat cancer. SO it can be a prescription drug and they can make Billions more dollars, as long as 'they keep it 'illegal', with no known medical value.

Notice the 'non-toxic'. Cannibus isn't toxic. Why did they say it that way? Plants that little sucker right in the mind of folks that don't know any better. And if they use statements made before research has been conducted about the carcinogenics in marijuana and how its like smoking a pack of cigarettes etc. they can 'back up the statement'. DO NOT be fooled by this kind of bull shit. NO separate compound is necessary. Check Daniel Tashkin, 1990's and the 2004-2005. VV

i'm gonna disagree. fighting cancer IS a known medicinal value. by stating it's "non-toxic" they are reassuring the public that it's not just pot for stoners. "non-toxic" means it won't hurt you. once they discover a use for it like this it will bust the doors wide open for further research. there is NO way the government will take control of marijuana. it's a plant. we already grow behind closed doors. someone tell me how control would be taken from us. they can't stop me now how will they stop me if it's legalized?

Why couldn't these scientist get a grant to really do some thorough testing on cannabis. I mean it's proof that there really is something to this plant. And for the better that is.

After watching the video, I have to agree. Now I am not going to get into a debate as to whether marijuana is gaining acceptance or not, I am just talking about this one story in the video.

You are absolutely right. They have identified a "compound" which is two or more chemicals out of the thousands found in MJ. Given what they reported, the plan is definitely going to be for the pharma industry to take perfectly good MJ, tear it to shreds via chemical processes to isolate a single compound, add a bunch of crap you probably don't need, and market the hell out of it. The finished product won't be MJ anymore, not by a longshot. It will be "Saferex, from the great minds at Scripps" and will cost 188$ a dose- times 100 million women or so ( of proper age )in the country, all of which will have to have AT LEAST 1 dose in their lifetime, meaning the drug company will make a minimum of around 28 billion dollars the first year the drug is out.

MJ will not get proper credit on this one. And yes this particular case will make keeping medical MJ down look even more profitable to the drug companies.But it also may get more people thinking about it in general.

They have done the research in a lot of area's. Look before you attack me on this please understand I spent 1/2 the summer collecting signatures to put MedMJ on the ballot for the State of Michigan. Many see this as the 'Linch Pin State', I hope so. Did anyone look for Tashkin to see what his research showed?? You don't hear about it unless you look for it. His study conducted in 2004 paid for by one of the federal alphabet soups proved the opposite of what he thought he would find. 'They' the other side still qoute what he said in 1994. Thats why 'they' funded the research. VV
