Currently Active Users: 737 (312 members and 425 guests) What about guest viewing?

Alot of people would appreciate it if everybody had to login to view the forum topics.

You could leave the main forum page available for google spiderbots, etc.
But close off all of the subforum topics to logins only.

I know its not alot.
But makes people more comfortable to post/reply in the first place if they know that a simple google doesn't pick them up.

For example:
If I google "ask kelvin"
Bam there I am.

Do you think I would have posted if I knew I was going to be on the first page of google search?
Nope.
(I do not think this forum was public back then, but maybe I am wrong and never noticed)

I won't be posting much anymore until public guest viewing is closed.
I am sure there are 1000's thinking like me.

So you end up with 1000 people browsing and 1 posting.

That is why I see guys asking why nobody will reply to them to help their situation/post/thread.
Cause who wants to look like the WeedGod of knowitall on google?

If you don't want something to be on google, don't post... Google is responsible for bringing a lot of users to us and it should be viewed as an asset. If you dont want to be known, don't disclose information about yourself. Plain and simple...

By the way, I googled "Ask kevin" and you don't even appear to show up on the first 5 pages of results... just so you know.

Theres no way in hell thats gonna happen. Google is how most of the RIU members find this site. Without Google, traffic would drop dramatically, revenue would be seriously compromised and the activity on this site would slow down greatly. The loss of one member (you) will not prompt the admin to take such a drastic measure.
