I see some realize the way to deal with drugs is to legalize.

With Cannabis if there isn't much money in it then there will be less issues with it.

Lol, wow. They don't give a fuck about what anybody thinks. They're determined to keep the war on drugs going, dumb ass politicians. The leaders in South America are trying to help us and our politicians just say no immediately.

i have heard of more than one south american president who is on our side - they see the misery that prohibition has caused first hand.. i have a feeling that they will also extend decriminalization to other drugs also like Mexico has..

We have Mitt Romeney who has to by Faith believe the Earth is about 5000 years old and wears Magic Underware.

It really is a screw-job we have about the war on drugs.

Obama says that if factions in certain countries were allowed to operate legally, it could be just as corrupting, if not more corrupting than the status quo. Therefore, let's stick with the status quo of us paying $12 billion+ a year fighting a drug war vs. cartels that are basically operating with hardly any opposition. (pretty much legally)

Face it! The US Government will never come out and legalize weed. It will take a large majority of the 50 states doing what CA, OR, WA and CO are doing -- striving to make it legal in their particular state.

I've been watching this issue evolve over the past 25 years, and others my age would confirm that the movement towards full decriminalization is accelerating. We aren't close yet, and the fickle electorate can reverse direction at any time; just the same, this is the best political environment I have seen for weed ever. Frankly, I think the slower we go (medical mj and building national decriminalization state by state) the better the chance that progress will be permanent.

The sad thing is lives being ruined every year as a consequence of the failed 'war on drugs.' I can deal with a bit of cloak and dagger with my grow, but I pity those fucked by our legal system.
