Default Legalizing Marijuana but Keeping it Medical.

From what I've been reading and seeing, Legalization means free sale of marijuana to ANYONE over the age of 21. If were pushing for marijuana as a medical substance as a cause for legalization, shouldn't it be kept that way? Where in order to obtain MMJ you still need a med card and such? I feel as if people have a huge issue with it that comes from underage usage and how to obtain it, isnt becoming a patient and buying from a clininc better than going to your local liquor mart and buying it?

    Thoughts?

This is true, but we still want legalization.

Although its a blackmarket item, alcohol can be considered that as well seeing how much underage drinking there is right?

Good post but I think you are looking at it the wrong way. Would you rather have MJ regulated and sold in an establishment that verifies age or continue the prohibition and have kids buying from a dealer that cares only about money. The fact is MJ was made illegal for corrupt reasons and they have sustained the prohibition with lies and more corruption. On average 400,000 people die in the US from tobacco every year and about 80,000 from alcohol (That isn't including car accidents or accidents in general, that is just from health issues). marijuana has never killed anyone, ever (Again, not counting accidents). So why shouldn't it be regulated ? If you only legalize for medicinal purposes then that doesn't solve your black market problem, there is a huge black market for prescription meds. The legalization, regulation, and taxation of marijuana would result in 10-14 Billion dollars for the US economy, think of everything that money could he used to accomplish. Legalizing for medicinal purposes is better than nothing but its just a means to an end. I think the full legalization of marijuana should be the goal for every MJ supporter. Just my humble opinion.

That's true, but it is still better than prohibition. Every high school kid in America knows exactly where to go to get his/her hands on some stanky dank nuggets and those dealers aren't carding anyone. The full legalization, regulation of MJ coupled with education is the best way to keep kids away from it. That is the one area MJ is harmful, on young people with developing minds. Unfortunately politicians continue to support prohibition and the black market while lining their pockets with money from alcohol companies, tobacco companies, private prison corporations, and drug cartels, all of which would lose a lot of money if MJ prohibition ended. I get that we are on the same side, so I apologize for rambling. I am passionate about this subject.

I completely disagree. The medical scam is just that, a scam. It ought to be legal just as it was prior to 1937. You ought to be able to grow it in your garden right next to your tomatos and petunias.
