Just heard an NPR interview with Tom Brokaw about his new book discussing the sixties, "Boom! Voices of the Sixties: Personal Reflections on the '60s and Today". Among other things, he believes that marijuana should be legalized. In fact, he admits that he inhaled! Check it out at Tom Brokaw.

Let me know what you think. Do you think as more and more prominent and open minded people discuss legalization that we will see it in our lifetimes?

I think so, it seems its becoming well excepted across america, and canada too. I think if just everyone who smokes would be oppen about it than we would be going somwear, and lots of people have been coming out of the hotboxed closet latly :P I mean I never thought there would be a telivision series about growing and selling and smoking weed... but there is thats progress right there
how can we start a referendum? if somone startted one up I'd feelthat it would pass.

I think it's cool Brokaw came out and said that. There's a lot of smart and succesful people just like him who don't have the nuts to admit they toke. Brokaw should be applauded for having the courage to come out and say that. It's sad that society places a negative stigma around people who toke. There's probably a lot more toker than any of us imagine, they're just afraid to let it be known.

I thought it was cool too. Somebody is smoking all the weed that is coming into the US. And, IMO, I think most of the good stuff is smoked by people who are middle and upper class! To pay $500.00/onion - you have to have some $$$ - unless you grow it yourself!
