How long do u think it will take till cannabis legalized in America, any state or will it ever happen?

Here's my pool numbers if we're bettin'

I give it 10 years for the first contigous 48 - state to De-criminalize.

<don't really count Alaska or Hawaii - they just do things differently there . Last I heard, it pretty much became a right to privacy issue in Alaska.>

Another 10 before it becomes actually legal anywhere - in that you might see coffeshops of pharmacies have it. Along with taxation etc....

25 after that before it goes Federal.

Just my speculations....

What I don't understand is more than half the country smokes or smoked pot or doesn't have a problem with it and it is still not legalized but yet every year thousands die in car crashes due to alchohol and to my knowledge, I don't remember one event where someone crashed due to smoking pot nor do you see people getting violent because they had a little too much to smoke.

i think its more than 75% of the country smokes or has smoked pot

no bill to tax the sale of pot will ever last long before it's over turned by the supreme court. i mean places like that might pay generic taxes but no specific tax on pot like we have for alcohol and tobacco. i think it's gonna take more than 10 years however i do agree that it's gonna to take more than half of the states to have decriminalization laws before it ever has a chance on the federal level. with the exception of course if ron paul makes president.

Within the next presidential term, there will be a lot of laws changed regarding drugs.

latest results from highschools here.....I think it was 30% alcohol, 12% cigarettes, and 67% marijuana.....and 5% other drugs....lots of people said...that the other drugs were actually more... but anywho....I get the sense that lots of people even do that on the street now....not that I would but...seems to be pretty common place....walking around,,, and smelling the dank weed wherever I go....amazing!

I really dont care how much tax they put on it, even if it was illegal to grow and you could only buy it from stores(i would still grow teehee). As long as i could smoke. I would walk into Circle K and ask for a pack of Marijuanabro 100 blueberry. Tap the pack open it, throw one in my mouth, light it and OMW!!! It will happen some day we waste up to $6billion dollars a year in policing marijuana alone, i can see the other drugs...... BUT MARIJUANA?!?!?!
