i don't think less federal involvement is gonna come very soon. I truly think that the only way it will ever be legalized, either for medical use or general use, on the federal level will be through the states. the DEA has and will continue to do everything in their power to keep cannabis a schedule I drug because it is a substantial portion of their budget. What i mean by getting it legalized federally but through the states is this. Congress and the president and the Human Health Services (all three have the power to reschedule a drug), will only seriously reconsider rescheduling if a large portion if not a majority of states enact medical
marijuana laws or decriminalization laws. the federal level government is increadibly unresponsive to the citizens so the only way they'll hear our voice is if more and more states start saying "F*** off feds".
