Hey guys,

There are two big things happening in Florida. First, the City of Jacksonville Beach, in Northeast Florida, has a group petitioning to reduce punishment for possession under 20 grams. They are proposing this as a model city for neighboring cities and other cities throughout Florida. This movement is currently collecting signatures and will be on the November 2010 election.

The second big item is a group called People United for Medical marijuana, www.pufmm.org, has a petition out to get Florida medical marijuana. They are trying to get 700,000 signatures and donations to support the drive. PLEASE IF YOU LIVE IN FLORIDA, GO TO THEIR SITE, PRINT THE PETITION AND SEND IT IN. Make sure to follow the directions and if you can send in a few bucks to help.

People of Florida, we need your help. Don't be lazy and not sign the petitions and forget to vote on November 2010.

Heads up on printing - FOLLOW ALL DIRECTIONS - blue ink and a single page. This means that you have to print the front and then flip it around and print on the back.

As for the number of signatures I am not sure how to find out. I will email them and see how its going. Also, make sure to pass this on to everyone you know who supports this. We need all the help we can get.

Jah - I talked to Kim, the President of the group. She mentioned that she doesn't have an exact number due to continual mailings. I asked her about writing an article for High Times and other related magazines, she said she is in awaiting a reply. I emailed them as well to discuss the idea and also have yet to hear from them as to the progress. I guess the long and the short of it is we ALL have to work hard to get this moving. I have contacted friends, family, etc that I know would support this. I ask you and your friends do the same.

The only trick is you really have to follow the directions of the petition. i.e. it must be on a single page(front and back) and the pages both have to be upright and blue ink used for signatures. So everyone go out with the message, get signatures and ask those who signed to do the same. Lets unite and get this done. Show the "other side" that we can as a group get this done.

Whats up iwannasmokeit, I started a similiar thread in Legal Edge of froums have gotten over 270 views and only 2 replies, i to have talked to kim and to the head of my local chapter and it is not looking to good right now. Heres the problem : Everyone just wants to sit back ,complain about why mj is illegal and have someone else do all the work for them, its ridiculous people are just so fuckin lazy. First off mj is just a plant its not addictive it was put on this earth for mankind to use and enjoy but a doctor cant even prescribe u it but he can prescribe u a ton of other medications that are highly addictive, and ruin the lives of many people both young and old. Ive never heard of anyone who has lost everything because they had to get a bag of mj no matter what.
And to anyone who lives in Florida and reads these threads and just sits there and says "Well I hope some day it becomes legal" People Why just watch things happen when you can make things happen. Florida has the harshest laws in the nation for mj users.

AMV - I agree 100000000000000000% PEOPLE OF FLORIDA - stop being lazy and help us reform the laws. Stoners have the label of being lazy, prove them wrong and get this done. iwanna i am starting to think that over half of the people in Florida have to be stupid rednecks because there just isnt enough support for this cause.. I was told by the pres of pufmm that if you become a member of pufmm elite that youll get first dibs on the business end if it passes and pufmm will control the license to proffesionally grow or open mmj dispensery .Their not going to let the people who did nothing get those license. SO im really tryn to get the signatures

The cut off period is February 0f 2010 , 700,000 sigs needed if we dont make the deadline we will have to wait until 2012
