Default STill nEED HelP !!!!! Some states are still oppressing
Look, i realize that the ovewhelming majority of subscribers to this sight are in legal states with legal gardens. Why else would pics be posted.......anyways there is a great dispairity right now. Instead of helping with the nationwide decrim alot are just ejoying what thier state has done for them. DON'T be a GREEDY stoner. This is a real issue, release the rest of the country from pain and paranoya.

Anything you see, where you can vote. Online, phone, etc. I would like to pass along this CNN pole......1-973-409-3274...It has a message and asked if u like the idea of legalization press #. Then it offers screen savers and crap so hope it is legit. Certainly doesn't seem harmful.

Default National Petition
This is the petition with the most signatures I can find online after doing a search. Sign this puppy, send it to your friends so they can sign it, and have them send it to their friends to sign... let's get the ball rolling on this. If we can get enough voices out there, then they will have to stop denying us our natural rights. The guy who put it together is looking for 100, 000 signatures. I think that with the right word of mouth marketing we can get that number up way further. If f***ing American Idol can get a zillion votes, then so can weed, but we are all going to have to get ACTIVE about it- so get high, get thinking, and get your people to do some signing. Post it on facebook, myspace, digg it, tweet it, whatever you gotta do, just get the word out! We are millions strong, but we often lack the direction to put our energy to good use.

Hi, I live in "oppressed" Texas and I got a fucking felony for marijuana POSSESSION, not even distribution in 03. It was and is my only criminal offense ever. Not only that, this happened 6 months after graduating college w/a BBA Almost 7 years later, I still have trouble with background checks, and getting any worthwhile job in this state. I find myself feeling very, jealous, I guess? Because other states, some directly adjacent to my own, have much more lenient laws regarding pot. I feel that we are all Americans and therefore, we should all be treated equally. I can't leave this state either because I basically have to depend on my wife's job to support my family, and she will not leave her family here in Texas. I really want to do something to help change this shit. Sometimes I feel like I have nothing to lose b/c I'm already screwed here... so what can I do? I send letters monthly to my state representatives, only to receive generic auto-responses, they aren't concerned with the likes of me. Texas doesn't care about me, unless they can raid and rob me.

LOL, 4 some reason I got an e-mail from the "whitehouse" today... i don't believe it's real, but I'm sure it's weird. Something about Obama's speech in Egypt? Here it is. & yes I voted for Obama, fuck Bush & Cheney!!!!!

Here it is:

<img alt="The White House, Washington" width="616" height="100">

Hello -

As a Senior Advisor to the President, I'm here in Cairo, Egypt where I watched President Obama deliver an unprecedented speech calling for a new beginning for the United States and Muslim communities around the world.

We all know that there has been tension between the United States and some Muslim communities. But, as the President said this morning, if all sides face the sources of tension squarely and focus on mutual interests, we can find a new way forward.

The President outlined some big goals for this new beginning in his speech -- including disrupting, dismantling, and defeating violent extremism. It was a historic speech, and since many Americans were asleep at the time it was given we wanted to make sure you had a chance to see it:

<img alt="A New Beginning" style="border-style: none; width: 476px; height: 142px;">

Majority-Muslim countries around the world are filled with extraordinary people who simply want to live their lives and see their children live better lives, just as in America. Indeed, part of what makes America great is having nearly seven million Muslim Americans living here today and enriching our culture and communities.

We can extend that kind of relationship abroad. It won't always be easy, but if we make an effort to bridge our differences rather than resigning ourselves to animosity, we can move toward a more peaceful world over time.

Thank you,
David Axelrod
Senior Advisor to the President

I wonder why I got this? I've never e-mailed the whitehouse. Kinda scary, yet fuck it. I will die for what I believe in!

MODERATORS: I surely am not intending to spam here, please let me know if anything I have posted in this thread is out of line with the rules, it does not seem to be to me.

I replied to the whitehouse today as follows:

MR. AXELROD,

PLEASE HEAR THIS:
PLEASE HELP! THIS ARTICLE IS AS SIMPLE AS IT GETS. MORE PEOPLE WOULD SPEAK UP IF THEY WERE NOT SCARED OF BEING UNJUSTLY TREATED. I HAVE BEEN PERSONALLY AFFECTED BY THE PROHIBITION OF marijuana, AND AS A TEXAS RESIDENT AND A TAX PAYING, COLLEGE GRADUATE, IT HAS SUBSTANTIALLY LIMITED MY OPTIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT. ALSO, I AM FORCED TO TURN TO "LEGAL" PRESCRIPTION DRUGS TO COUNTER CONSTANT LOWER BACK PAIN. THIS SHOULD BE TOTALLY RE-EVALUATED. IT IS A NEW DAY, SIR.

SINCERELY,
RICHARD BARTON

Anti-Drug researcher changes mind and says Legalize marijuana

<img width="200">
For 30 years, Donald Tashkin has studied the effects of marijuana on lung function. His work has been funded by the vehemently anti-marijuana National Institute on Drug Abuse, which has long sought to demonstrate that marijuana causes lung cancer. After 3 decades of anti-drug research, here's what Tashkin has to say about marijuana laws: "Early on, when our research appeared as if there would be a negative impact on lung health, I was opposed to legalization because I thought it would lead to increased use and that would lead to increased health effects," Tashkin says. "But at this point, I'd be in favor of legalization. I wouldn't encourage anybody to smoke any substances. But I don't think it should be stigmatized as an illegal substance. Tobacco smoking causes far more harm. And in terms of an intoxicant, alcohol causes far more harm." [McClatchy]
We've been told a thousand times that marijuana destroys your lungs, that it's 5 times worse than cigarettes, and on and on. Yet here is Donald Tashkin, literally the top expert in the world when it comes to marijuana and lung health, telling us it's time to legalize marijuana. His views are shaped not by ideology, but rather by the 30 years he spent studying the issue. He didn't expect the science to come out in favor of marijuana, but that's what happened and he's willing to admit it.

Lol, i got deferred adjudication, did my 2 years probation, 150 hours of fucking community service, and paid over $3k to the city. My record is "technically" expunged, or "sealed" but even i have paid to look up my own background online, and on some sites they have my whole fucking life listed... including the deferral and "expungement" but in my state, they almost always ask you to divulge this info when applying 4 jobs... i always say no, of course, but twice now i have been called out for "lying" about it. It really is quite frusterating and embarrassing. I'm deperately w8ing for the 7 year mark to pass, but have little hope that it will really make any difference either.
Oh well, I guess I made my bed, right?

Yea, so did you have some shit growing or did you just have some shit ? And thats how they like to do it anyways. The more i think about, and more, and any free time i do. I have figured it out. I think this is how money is made on prohibition. Not on the little guy. In fact they are somewhat ignored, or slightly harrassed. It seems to me the idea is to get into a big deal and then get clean american money, a bunch of it in one place...then basically jack em. Take the money and the drugs. Then use the same shit to do it all over again. HAHAHAHA. and each time make a boat load of money. Heres the thing. I think that at least marijuana is safe and mainstream enough to make it out of the black market without contastophe.

As for what to do i am going to continue to search for that holy grail of pot petitions.

As for the whitehouse comments, there was a poll a while back that alot of people participated in that had a email spam thing.....i unchecked it, i stay current elswhere and like my email organised so i don;t miss something important.

Peace w/ muslims would = weed. They need to sell oil to survive. If they do not they would have to conquer agricultural lands big enough to compete. They are unhappy with the oil fields, so let them grow weed. and bring a new world market along with this "new world order"

Both. Some shit growing and some shit on the table. But the D.A. doubled the possession charge and got me twice for "Felony P.O.M. 4oz-6lbs" Instead of Intent, Cultivation and or Possession.
As separate charges, they would have only been able to get me with 3 misdemeanors at most.
I had two lbs of brick bud on the table (Mexico's Best ), and one 6' plant in the closet. They threw it in a trashbag and weighed the whole thing: roots, soil, trunk and all They say it came out to just over 8 lbs. And they totally over-inflated the "street value" they said it was worth 1/4 million. LOL, I wish it was worth that. I sure wouldn't have had it sitting around my house if that was the case.

Damn. Sorry to hear that. I am also a Texas resident, just got my degree, wll be going to grad school shortly - so your story sounds terrifying. I hope everything will work out for the best for you though and that our state will become more lenient towards non-violent first time offenders.
If you don't mind me asking, how did you get caught? I only ask because eventually I would like to have a very small grow for myself and obviously would like to avoid ever dealing with the legality of my choice.
