Unhappy When will Texas fall in with Cali ?
Sucks living in Texas... Texas seems to be at a stand still on the topic of legalizing marijuana... when will Texas hop on the band wagon and realize that legalization will do so much good for the state.

I would say Texas will jump on the pro marijuana bandwagon just as soon as Cali starts frying death row inmates again. In other words, move to another state if you want to see marijuana somewhat decriminalized in the next 10 years, perhaps even your lifetime.

Its just sad, all the god fearin' drug hatin' right wing extremists try to stay in certain states so they can breed those fears & lies into their kids and keep things the same for decades. Being pro pot in Texas is like showing up in SF, Cali with a "Gay is not he way" poster, it just aint gonna fly. But if you want to grow old, get hooked on pain pills & die from the combination of 3 LEGAL Zanex and a 6 pack of LEGAL beer, then Texas is for you

No offense of course, I live in a state thats probably worse than Texas, but I plan on moving to colorado soon.

yeah i also live in texas. i feel your pain bro i want it legal... or do i, taxes through the roof and that ounce you bought from a homie for 100 will end up being 150-200. but along with that you would always get high grade shit... idk i say get a great dealer and just do what you do and let time go by (high as fuck!!!!) dont worry so much about legalization cause growing and selling would still be illegal.

I think if any hardcore Red state would decriminalize it/medicalize it we would be towards the top...
1) We border Mexico and obviously this drug cartel is getting huge
2) When California starts making billions off of it, why would we, another very populated state with plenty of people who smoke, not do the same thing?
3) I think it helps that our state capital is in Austin, a very very pot friendly area

Who knows, every election year it seems like 2 more states are decriminalizing it or accepting its medical use. We are currently at 13 states I believe, so 1/4 of our country's states have accepted it. With Obama's more accepting policy on it, I would not be surprised if the number is closer to twenty when he leave office (assuming he gets reelected, which isn't hard to do anymore it seems). So I think things are looking up.

About 30 years ago I predicted pot would be legal within at least 10 years. This was largely based on the fact they dropped the penalty from a Felony for any amount, to a mid grade Misdemeanor for less than 2 oz. Everybody in the world seemed to be smoking the stuff etc. I think it was the employer drug test that stopped the slide to legal sure the liquor lobby did a little greasing the palms of the politicos too. Now they got it all tied in with the Workers Comp law. If you get injured on the job first order of bizness is a piss test which if it shows positive Workmans Comp wont pay etc. The whole agenda is crazy and they recently announced that 60% of the border drug violence is sparked by marihoochie importation from Mexico. Not sure where the answer lies on this deal or if there exists any State politicians with enough guts to implement the solution. I like Mendicino CA model. Five plants per household or person etc. then they dont enforce it if a person gets greedy and raises more. I like it.

austin is ridiculously pot friendly compared to the rest of the state. reggaefest/marleyfest is pretty much a stoner free-for-all every year on 420.

south texas is lenient on it too than the rest of the state. primarily because of the border and all the middle grade weed that comes over. i've had friends busted with more than three Oz of schwag over there and were let off with a warning and their stash confiscated even though state law would've considered it a class A misdemenor.

Actually there are quite a few Texas lawmakers who have been trying to introduce a House Bill to the Texas Legislature that would basically make the marijuana laws in California and Texas the same, but with a few minor differences. The trouble, however, is that every time Congress comes to session, they talk about stupid shit, which is why I think that once the bill actually makes it to Congress, it might pass because of all the pot smoking Texas lawmakers. That's why they never talk about it...because they can never remember where they put it! LOL! Seriously though, HB 164 has been presented in the Texas HoR, but as of yet, to no avail. Hopefully, though in the next couple years, it will make it through the House and on to the Texas Senate. But even if it makes it through that Gov. Perry might veto... I guess we'll just have to drink our LEGAL 6 packs while we wait :/
