This may be a dumb question but who votes on this bill and how does it get passed? how many have to vote yes. Once it is passed is that it or does it have to go through something else? Thanks sorry for my ignorance.

we've got to hope and pray that our dems rally around Ammiano - he has a big constituency, but he is a very new face and there's going to be some very controversial topics brought up probably during these hearings..

ya - it looks like we will be the first when it does happen.. maybe we'll be like a second Amsterdam for a while - attracting weed connoisseurs from all over the globe!!

on a side note - are you all aware of the fact that Portugal decriminalized all drugs back in 2001? they had terrible problems just like what we face in north america - a poverty driven drug epidemic - but, after decriminalization - 7 years later their problem is under control! http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/2009/03/14/portugal/index.html
