so lets say that it is for sure that it will be legalized in california what do you think will happen to the growers? will there be large commerical growers that will just shutdown all the smaller growers or what.

Personally I think that could happen, yes, anythings possible I guess.

In my mind, in a "perfect world", the government could ask experienced growers and current growers to grow it. They'd already be set up growin, maybe get them good pay and benifits so they are willing to do it.

I figure they'd keep makin awesome buds to smoke. My fear is government steps in and makes shitty weed for us all

it's difficult to predict.. in any case its going to mean honest revenue for the state and tons of it - Ammiano says 1.5 Bn - norml.org says more like 7 - 8 Bn - i'm thinking even bigger - so many new businesses - bars, clubs, parks, hotsprings/bath-houses, small theaters.. so many ways pot will get into the economy..

i tend to think there will still be demand for fresh, good, well groomed local buds - how will big companies compete? it seems to me they'll be selling dry, chopped up, processed joints maybe even with filters.. and how much will they charge? even if it's a similar price to cigarettes - small time growers could still compete a bit.. selling to local shops and dispenairies..

If it happens majority of small growers who grow for them self will continue growing with no worries. Large growers will all start growing huge amounts and the DEA will most likley bust a bunch of them and people will be pissed.

Obama needs to step it up and restrect them we gave our fredom away when we let goverment control everything. States need to be given the right to do whatever benefits them, I am going to be so happy if this bill passes it is going to be a huge mess. There is no way the DEA can control everyone in CA, they will have to move every agent to CA to try and bust everyone.

And if you live in the US write to your states congressmen and tell them how you feel about the wasted money each year that is spent on marijuana prohabition, tell all your freinds too they will eventually listen if it becaomes a majority.

ya serious. like if they regualte the commerical growing that be would good cause i gurantee that the quality will go down. Now if us smaller growers keep growing and sell to cafes or something that would definately boost our economy for everyone who doesnt have jobs and what not

I'm sure that all the commercial growers would want to grow the best strains available unless they are growing Hemp. Why grow anything besides the best?

They might even just set up fields with all clones of the top genetics and that way they wouldn't have to worry about seeds. A warehouse full of mother plants would produce tons of clones.

The hemp growers would have to keep their fields FAR away from any commercial sensi farms though.

The little home growers wouldn't be able to make much of a profit from their indoor crops but on the bright side they could legally buy super buds for cheap.

I'm sure there would be a lot of people making money by hustling medical grade Cali weed to other states though.

It would revolutionize the world We live in because Cali would pave the way for the rest of the world. Oil would become obsolete because hemp makes a wonderful biodiesel and strong plastics too. So gas prices would plummet! There would be hemp clothing and paper too. Hemp oil cures cancer so people would be healthier.

And We could all live happily ever after
