Why we should legalise

Okay, basically im getting pissed off with trying to make "stealth cabinets" and having to smoke weed discretely blah blah blah.
Im from the UK, but as people from the USA are concerned, we're both in a pretty shitty economic state.
In the times of prohibition, everything was pretty shitty because nobody could drink legally in public, people did it illegaly, gangs and criminal circles grew (mafia, Al Capone, etc). THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH marijuana! lets face it, how many crimes are being committed because of weed, how many gangs formed, i need not continue.
the dutch government have got it right, they say they legalise weed because they want to keep a distinction between soft and hard drugs. OBVIOUSLY things like Heroin will never be legalised, but as far as im concerned, alcohol being prohibited made alot more crime then weed. so what does this mean, alcohol is worse than weed yeah? far more people die from alcohol than cannabis???
What does this have to do with the economy, i hear you ask? so what us Britts used to learn in History lessons is that the legalisation of Alcohol helped get the USA back on it's feet after the crash blah blah blah. WELL we are all in a pretty shit economic state now, WHY THE FUCK hasnt it been legalised a long time ago?

Yep but as stated in some other posts... We don't get it legalized because of all the people who make millions if not billions of dollars by keeping it ILLEGAL... which I think is fucking bull but whatev... maybe I'll move to Amsterdam some day.. rofl.. smoke my bud in peace....

Very good point about the alcohol though.. I read someone's avatar.. or maybe it was someone's signature here on RIU that read....

Drunk people crash cars... High people just miss their exits... rofl.. that's all need be said in my opinion =p
