Since I got out of school and have had a lot of free time, I have been discussing with my roommates how easy it would be to get on a government watch list and if we were could someone be issued a search warrant for information obtained against them online. As for the watch list, I have no idea, but if typing "marijuana" or "terrorism" into a google search earns me a red flag then I got plenty. Apparently, the Patriot Act allows the local law enforcement of America to subpoena ISP's for personal information. Thats just what I got off Wikipedia, because I cant read through the Patriot Act without falling asleep or pulling my hair out. If anyone has any information on Internet security and law enforcement, first hand experience, or just opinions please post.

Its completely possible, well at least when it comes to torrent a couple of months ago SafeNet was monitoring my IP and contacted my service provider to tell I was downloading some copyright TV series from Fox (and they had every single file and chapter that I downloaded and even info from torrents that I searched but not downloaded) at that time they cancelled my internet service and then I got it back after signing a special contract

so if they want they just kind of listen to your internet activity/connection etc and see every single thing you do
(I'm getting satellite connection or a nice proxy for sure )


so not to make u more paranoid lol but watch out for wath you download

damn, thats means they save all those search requests for each IP address. That sucks man, what kind of contract did you have to sign to get back on the internet?

yeah it sucks
I have a copy on my email, if I find it I will past it here, but it basically said that if that happens again they would suspend my account for ever and get me banned/blacklisted to get internet
