I'm sure a lot of you smokers like myself have had to take a drug test at some point in life, and I'm sure you've all seen the detox kits and crap that flush you out...and sure they work but they are expensive and a pain in the ass. Well ever since I took organic chemistry in college, I've wondered about alternative methods to 'fool' those tests. I always figured there would be some kind of chemical you could add to your urine sample to cause a conformational change in THC metabolites that the tests are looking for.

Looking at the structure of caboxy-d9-THC, I figured you'd be able to to a lot with a good nucleophile or something to change that structure. It would all depend on what kind of test you were doing and what the test was looking for. For example, if your urine is going to a lab for GS/MS analysis, you're going to have to do some clever changing. Well, I didn't figure anything like that out, but if any of you science-savvy readers have any ideas or have thought about that please comment.

After doing some google scholarly searching on the cannabis assay mechanisms, I ran across this article I just had to share with you all. It is a bit out dated but still interesting. These guys added visine to urine samples that had THC metabolites added to it, and the visine was able to fool some of those field tests. Now of course, like i said, a lab test would find the THC (as they mention in this paper). I guess it turns out visine can be used for more than clearing your red eyes.

Well, I've been reading up on my THChemistry, and the whole visine thing may not work a lot of the time.
