While being "transported" from one County Jail to another, the Law Man told me that 80% of all bust comes from Citizens snitching. As a Poker Player, all bets are made after considering the odds. Same as growing, etc. What is the odds. Logic reasoning tells me that I have an 80% chance of success is I tell no one. Of course people, like myself, like to show off their Babies, and that is why this site is important. I can share my excitement without the risk, if done properly. There is a list of the 10 most common mistakes made... when I find it, I'll forward it.

Just remember the unbearable heat & humidity... I want to get to the Hills of Ark, out of the humidity. Other than loose lips, another precaution is a rule adopted from the Military; IE CYA, aka Cover your ass. To apply, you MUST have a logical answer for what you are doing, and why you are doing it at any given time. The truth has nothing to do with anything. You just paint a logical & believable picture for someone asking nosy question. Never allow yourself to be put in a bad situation if at all possible. Never take unnecessary risk. As my Dad taught me, "Never run your horse through the Creek before getting off & seeing what you are fixing to get into". This applies to everything. Understand what you are getting into before you get your feet wet.

That's good information about how 80% of busts are caused by snitching. That is what scares the hell out of me. I now understand why a friend who's been growing for years just about had a heart attack when she thought I'd mentioned her stuff to another friend of mine--one who is totally cool, laid back and not a problem. But when I contemplated it with me as the one growing, suddenly it all became a lot more clear. Tell no one. Anyone who does not have to know should not know, period.

I'd really like to know and have been unable to figure out this: Are they or are they not allowed to use FLIR? I found some info online that the Supreme Court ruled against it in 2001, as an unlawful violation of privacy. But then, on this site, I saw a thread in which someone had posted the video taken from a helicopter using FLIR, and it appeared to be recent.

Whether they (gov'ts, that is) are legally allowed to use FLIR, I trust them about as much as I trust, well, the government. Even if illegal, I could see them using it, then finding some other reason to get a warrant.

I've also heard that they cannot use electric company records of usage as a reason for a warrant--but then I have the same suspicions. Wouldn't they just use that info to find another reason for a warrant? I know someone who had a broken heater system and whose bill doubled (or maybe it tripled--not sure). She got a call from the electric company asking what had changed to make her usage go up so much.

My biggest problem is my teenager. I've got to get him moved out before I can get this started. He has no reason to go into my room, and I've bought locks for those doors with the excuse that I'm tired of things going missing from my bedroom and my bathroom. But I still don't feel at all comfortable doing this with a volatile adolescent in my home.

Scary stuff, the idea of getting caught. Plus, I have daycare center within 1000 feet of my place. If you drive, it's more than 1000 feet, but if you walk through the woods, it's closer. Then again, at that point, I think I'd be toast anyway.
