Cops around here will skip the police dog.If they think you are carrying something they will call a game warden to search alot of times.I've had a cop call a game warden to search cause he thought I had weed (a buddy smoked a joint in my car while we were sitting at a friends).I didn't think he could do it...turns out I had a round for my gun in the floorboard he claimed he was searching for the firearm to verify it was legal which they can do all the while he was really looking for some stashed weed.

While they don't have the power a lot of people say they do they do have broader authority than police.The laws in many U.S. states allow game wardens to conduct certain types of searches with or without search warrants.

Yeah. Game wardens have a little more discretion to conduct a search in many states. The coppers will use every trick in the book, and a few that are not, if they want you.
