Where I live in Saskatchewan the smell of burnt marijuana is not probable cause for a search warrant. Because although it proves marijuana was smoked it does not prove the you have any, because it is gone into the atmosphere. But because it is a dog they could not distinguish what the dog is alerting to, so they would search but you could probably fight to dismiss the charges. But thats risky. If this wasn't needed sorry but the more you know......CAUSE KNOWLEDGE IS POWER.

Thats true, they could call a k9. But you dont have to wait for the k9 to get there. That would be an unreasonable delay with probable cause. So if a cop asks u to wait for a drug dog, tell him u want your license back and you are leaving.

Interesting but how long can thy detain you? They could always take their sweet ass time writing a ticket or checking you tags. I don't think it would be that easy.

The delay can only be reasonable. If its half an hour, the court is not going to say thats reasonable. just dont consent. Ask for you ticket, and go.

thanks guys everyone has been really helpful. i learned stuff and had stuff i thought i knew confirmed. unfortunatly i do keep my proof of insurance in my glove box because ive got nowhere else to put it but might start looking for another place in the car where it wont get torn up.

best place to stash weed is find a spot under the hood. No cop will search under your hood even if they did have a right to search inside your vehicle. Another way is if your carrying large amounts of weed in the US stash it under your hood, if your paranoid about that amount take a little bud stash it in ur car so if you do get searched you only get fucked over with the little amount inside your vehicle. Not the ounces or pounds under your hood

I agree with parazit a lot. I have been around the forums for a long time but jsut do not post not cause all you new guys sketch me out hard.

I myself have been caught up for lets just say money made go away.


I reccomend TWO VERY IMPORTANT things to always remember.

If you MUST drive and smoke. Which I highly unreccomend. But if your a pro at it theres no worries.


1) Only drive with what you need to smoke. If its you and a buddy. I would reccomend no more then an 8th. you want to make sure that you can EAT THE BUD FAST IF ANYTHING HAPPENS!!!!!! bud is very difficult to consume It will make you gag and most likely throw up. The best way to aquire a very good taste for bud is to eat it while tripping. Then simply start eating a few times while not tripping. Soon you will be so used to the taste you will start to enjoy it and if a cop ever pulled you over you would ahve no problem consuming that in a jiffy

2) Now as we all know certian situation call for more then an 8th. Maybe you live in the boonies and you have to drive a ways.

If carrying more then an 8th. I reccomend always always always not smoking in the vehicle with anyhting more then an edible amount. If you have a qp i reccomend sitting it right on your lap. YES THATS RIGHT put that fat sack on your sack. Ceartian people have problems driving there cars fast on the highway. And that thing sitting right there reminds those people to take it easy. Make sure I to always in the middle lane. And always do five over. Make sure before you make the venture back that your headlights are working properly. Avoid staying in a single lane on a multilane road for more then 5 miles. ill post if i think of some more tips.
