Q: May physicians legally prescribe marijuana?
A: No. Although a handful of states have legislation authorizing doctors to prescribe marijuana (These laws were all passed in the late 1970s and early 1980s in expectation that the federal government would eventually reschedule marijuana.), doctors in these states may not legally do so without violating federal law. Federal policy dictates that physician who prescribes marijuana or other Schedule I drugs to a patient may be stripped of his or her federal license to prescribe drugs and prosecuted. In addition, physicians will not prescribe marijuana because there are no legal state supply sources from which a patient could attain the drug.

is that true?
dont physicians send people to the marijuana clubs out there?

Look at state laws not federal. The FEDs are going to say you cant because it agianst Federal Law. Your state has the right to prescribe you mary jane because its state law. But you apply threw the state for 215 not a doctor so get a note from a doctor or 2 then apply. Any of the places in cali will sell to you with 215 well most. Ones my friend took me to where expensive as shit.

its mostly west coast states i think its only like 13 states.

Yes, it's true. The law says that a physician can only recommend the use, and cannot talk about how to get it. Some MD clinics do allow dispensaries/caregivers to put business cards in their office.

Yeah, the key word is 'recommend'. Its not a perscription a Dr. can recommend you do anything like take more walks or eat more veggies, but in CA if a Dr. recommends you smoke pot then the state says that you are protected by Prop. 215 and SB420.

I am aware of the difference between prescribing and recommending
I am a Natural Healer so none of the remedies we use can be prescribed but only recommended because of substance regulation and Degree requirements (or service regulations)
so i "recommend" remedies all the time

does anyone know of any dispensaries on the east coast?
