Default Will my father get charged too?

Hello, I want to grow one plant in my closet. However if I get busted will the law charge the owner of the house? Cultivation laws in Georgia state 1 year in prison. Does that mean for me the grower only? Will that mean for my father too since he allowed me to grow? Does he potentially face charges too?

    Thanks

    1 plant = 1 yr? = Fuck that plant.
Sorry I do not know the actual answer but My guess would be if you are a minor and it was clear he knew, it could
come back on him. Around here 1 plant would probably get a slap on the wrist. By slap on the wrist I mean 2 yrs probation
drug evaluation which would turn into treatment if they found you to be an addict. Random piss tests and fines, court costs etc.... What you have here is a math problem more than anything. It may be cheaper in the long run to buy it as long as that is not illegal. Shit man there really is no good answer here other than think long and hard if they are really that hard where you are.

thanks for the reply charface. Let me let you in on how it is around here. The law itself states cultivation 1 plant can equal 1 year in jail. However some years ago I was ratted on by my ex, in turn the police got two of my plants. They didn't charge my father with nothing. But I got probation, fine, piss tests etc. So I reckon they let me off the hook easy or the law is worse than how they actually handle you. Now I'm not a minor, I live with my dad, I mean always got to expect the worst, and if my grow some how gets found out, I don't want my father going down with me see. I could say he never knew about my grow or I hid it from him or something to that extent is what I'm trying to say.

Before you risk your liberty and your father's liberty for 1 plant, call one of these lawyers anonymously from a pay phone and ask the same questions. They should be cool about it.
The usual answer is that for a small number of plants they would most likely break it down to possession. Unless you have baggies, a scale, phone lists, etc around. Then they could charge you with distribution. Sharing a joint with someone can be distribution. Are you within 1000 feet, as a crow flys, from any school zones, day care centers, churches with after school programs, parks, etc? If so, forget about it. For GA it said 20yrs for the first time offense cultivating near such zones.

Also, things can be different from county to county in each state. Where I live it would be 2 yrs. probabtion. Three counties over you would do 2 years in the house of corrections. The DA there likes to set examples. He sent an 18 yr old kid to prison for selling a $50 bag of weed at a mcdonalds that was within 1000 feet of a school zone.
To answer your question about your dad, the answer is yes. They could take you both down. I looked at the laws in GA. They're harsh to say the least. Basically everything is a felony. You've already had probs before and history can repeat itself. My advice, move and/or don't do it.

Thanks edgar9 for the info you gave. I did call one of the lawyers here in GA. Yes my father could be charged, 'it would be up to the police man's discretion' he said. I just want to say take care of your grows and hope amendment 64 in Colorado is a winner, therefore influencing the rest of the states to follow suite. Be safe.

At least there the penalty isn't as harsh. But its still illegal, they got to take marijuana off from being a schedule 1 drug, no medical value, high potential for abuse. Which is BS, I mean cocaine is a schedule 2 drug, why cocaine is considered below MJ is not right. That is just one of the many flaws those opposed MJ movement have. I mean with washington, oregon, and colorado, if good things happen there with all the potential billions of dollars of revenue to be earned, could help schools etc, more harsher states like georgia may consider medical cannabis. That would be a good step. The election is near..

for where you live consider doing a small guerrilla grow in some patch of woods next year, that way nothing can come back to your dad. you can guerrilla grow some small autoflowering plants throughout the year for your headstash....

Cocaine is used by nose specialists. For a broken nose turned sideways... It numbs your face very, very well prior to breaking the nose again, back in to a straight position.

It works like a vaporizer. We'll get stoned through the vents on the way there.
