What to expect in court
OKay so SWIM lives in New Jersey and was with his buddies at a park and two of his buddies sparked a joint and soon enough a cop showed up. The cop searched everybody and found weed on 5 people including 18 grams and 4 empty dimebags on SWIM. SWIM is a minor and this is his first offense. SWIM wants to know what to expect in court and what charges will be pressed and the penalty.

Here he would get probation and have to do comunity service for possession but 18 grams is just over two ounces so with the extra baggies they might charge him with intent to deliver. Was the 18 grams in one bag or a lot of bags??????

N.J. sucks........I once did 60+ days jail time on a 180 day sentence for possession in a school zone- actually I was caught growing MANY plants in a building and it was "paid" down to a 3rd degree with numerous other charges dropped. I'm guessing he'll get a simple possession charge with 6 months probation, a mandatory drug class with piss testing, $500 fine with court costs. It all depends on the prosecutor and the judge you get assigned. Also depends on the county and circumstances around the bust as detailed by the arresting officer........

Haha, yeah I would have jumped on that if they hadnt lol Maybe alter your view of the 'greatest country in the world' by telling you that here in the UK youd get a slap on the wrist for 18g (unless your a minority) - no community service or criminal record (you get 3 'cautions' before having a crim record)... not that this is the best country in the world by any stretch of the imagination.
