    Default Would You Grow?

I live in an apartment, which I own. 2 years ago I had a small 400w grow. During flower I had some exhaust issues, which I was unable to deal with. I should have chopped the plants early, but only had 1 week and really wanted to finish them, so i did.
Literally the day after drying and canning had finished 2 plain clothed cops showed up at my door. They said there had been some complaints which they had to check out, even though its usully nothing. Because I had recently chopped I had buckets in my bathroom which is visible from my front door. I was pretty high, and after noticing the buckets and probably my eyes started asking if I had been smoking. I said I had had a few beers. They asked to see my i.d. which I stupidly handed over and they recorded.
Before leaving they said that if they had to come back it wold be with a warrant.

That was 2 years ago. since then I have made a stealth cabinet with good air flow and multiple levels of odor and sound control- although not tested under live conditions. If I had issues this time I would cut straight down. It is however still the same location and most of the neighbozzvrs are the same.

Would you grow after 2 years or wait longer? I will grow again at some point, but have waited this long and can wait longer if you guys suggest.

    Cheers

After 2 years...... get a good ozone system to treat the air. Get to growing. The cops forgot about you in less then six months.

the complaint was about a strange smell and smoking smell, I think. Its been a while and all I could really focus on was that there were cops at the door and that I was toasted

No problem what so ever. Just make sure youve got odour control properly sorted. If they can't smell it you may as well be invisible.

It is not an issue of time as much as it is properly functioning room/cab whatever.
I wouldnt grow until light, Sound and odor problems were fully dealt with. If you can get this done
All you need to worry about is keeping trash sorted and those types of things.

Please, please, please don't take this the wrong way. Now your rights! Unless you are operating a motor vehicle you do not have to show ID. Always speak to officers with a closed door behind you or with a chain on your door so they can't see in you home. Leaving the door open is an invitation for an unwarranted search. Never consent to a search without a warrant being presented to you. You have the right to remain silent, which means you do not have to answer any of their questions. If they have absolutely nothing on you ask "Am I being detained or am I free to go?" Always keep your lawyer in speed dial. Other than that make sure your air scrubbers in order and you should be golden.

This is all well and good, but there is also something to be said about being cool with cops. If you just don't talk, refuse to show your id or cooperate they will get suspicious and testy. The OP may have diffused the situation by showing them the id; if he had refused they may have gotten curious and come back with a warrant or just barged their way inside, discovering his ounces of freshly jarred weed. It's a balance of knowing your rights and dealing with police respectfully as real human beings.

Anyway I'd say you're ok. Just get the smell under control. A big ass carbon filter is worth its weight in gold. Get one or make one.

And remember the three cardinal rules: No tell, no sell, no smell.
