    Default Caught Growing in Texas

I have a friend who was renting a house and the landlord called the sheriff saying he felt illegal activity was going on. The sheriff went to the house possibly smelt marijuana got a search warrant and busted the place while he was leaving. Three marijuana plants had bud in the early stage of flowering. Thirtythree were in the vegative stage twentyfour of those were small clones. Anyone know what he may be facing? Also do they weight the whole plant or just the dried out smokable material? He currently has a lawyer.. His current charge is Possession of marijuana in an amount of five pounds or less but greater than four ounces. Any help would be appreciated thanks in advance. Onelove

Sounds like they're letting him off in a way.. That's 36 plants, and they're charging him with possession??

well.. i recently ( about 2 weeks ago) was picked up for minor possession 1.3g and there throwing the book at me here in illinois. every state differs, texas is mostly conservative so. dont expect any leway. there gonna treat you lke pablo escobar lol. but your lawyer should be able to drop it to the minimal 4 ounces because, THEY DO WIGHT THEY WHOLE PLANT. soil, pots, and all. i got this information directly from a cop while booking. in my case i was arrested with 1.3gz but with container and all 580gz, the cop wasnt that much of a dick he just got me for the 1.3. but did make it clear that anyother cop would fuck me good. as for what could happen to you. like i said every case differs by state, your legal status,if your a felon, ect. but if you dont have a record i dont see why they wouldnt give u a few yers probation and some fines. but im no lawyer i ust speak from experiences within my circle.
    I WISH YOU LUCK

As for a cop telling you he was being nice, while really he isn't being nice he is doing his job is ludicrous...it doesn't matter what the cop said...Most police training is how to talk to people to get what you want...and making someone feel like you are on their side, but that your hands are tied is a quick way to make people feel they can trust you...
I have no idea what will happen to your friend...but hopefully it won't go too terribly...possession with that many plants sounds nice, but it could mean something awful...

COPS are never on your side, there job is to FIND, DETAIN, ARREST, and HELP COVICT you. PERIOD!

If anyone thinks the cop is helping them out they are really ignoratn of how the law really works, especially the "for profit" prison scene that the US seems to love and nurture.

Here is a quick link to "How to avoid pot busts", and a small quote from the article

Remarkably, no advertised reward encourages those who turn in murderers, rapists, robbers, child molesters or criminals who prey on the vulnerable. Even dealers of the harder drugs have no advertised bounty on their heads. How can this be? marijuana is not a dangerous drug. Its use is not a danger to society. Extreme measures to enforce the marijuana laws are not justified.

they count every-fucking-bit as weight. In the past I never did like the word pig but now it seems more fitting than when it was a popular term for law enforcement .

Thank you for all the advice it is greatly appreciated. Unfortunately it was the land lord so it was a sheriff who did the bust late at night. I was told by a lawyer to ask for a reweigh of just smokable material of the plant. Hopefully this information will be true. It was a dumb move on his part not having adequate ventilation with a carbon filter. Only time will tell. Anyone go threw similar legal matter in Texas?

texas being a non medical marijuana state and a far right leaning government state, IMO you are gonna get fucked pretty hard to mow take an example of to show others what happens. i do not envy your choice of decisions. Get some soap on a rope asap, your friend is going away.
