Agreed. LEOs won't waste helicopter time to locate some stoner's closet grow; a snitch takes care of a personal grower. Helicopters are extremely expensive to operate. They are looking for 'Marijuana Grow Labs' as I've heard them described.

Its called thermal imaging or infra-red, they cant find weed, they can find hot spots tho unless your running a mass operation they would have no reason to fuck with you

Umm, I don't think even if they found a house filled with lights with an IR scan they could get a warrant because there isn't enough evidence, its just suspicion. I'm sure they could walk up to your door and smell it though, maybe that would be enough. I know for a fact that cops cant search your premises with out your permission or a warrant.

The plants do infact collect heat, but these is only relevant if you are talking about detecting a FIELD OF MARIJUANA PLANTS in flowering, i like to hang tomatoes of my trees and just grow them in the yard. also i plant them in bushes of strawberry, the strawberry bushes actually support the pot plants.
