Oh, I wanted to say....They also took my cell and 20,000+ in cash...never got the money back, cell phone back in 2 weeks AFTER requesting it from evidence. Got the few numbers off it I needed and threw the phone in the trash. Oh never got the pre-paid phone back... Did you know that your cell phone #s IN YOUR NAME are reported on your credit? If the task force wanted to listen to my calls again they dont physically need the phone to do so, just the #s. Tell your boy to be careful about what he does, where he goes and who he talks to I'm sure they haven't just dropped the case...

Yea I know they don't need a physical tap to listen to his conversations but his phone isn't in his name its in his parents (but the cops obviously can still figure that out). However once again I'm from a very small town so I find it a little hard to believe that our narcotics officers have the resources to intercept cell phone calls without a physical tap (because that kind of equipment cost several hundred thousand dollars and im pretty sure that's probably like our whole towns police budget...)
However I do agree that he should still be careful and really should just get a new cell phone altogether under a different.

Ok, after reading 3 pages worth of speculation, I figured I'd actually give the TC some real advice.
This is a common tactic by police officers. They have way bigger fish to fry than your buddy with the QP. They have him on a paper record, DO NOT DOUBT IT. They filed his evidence away, so there is definately paper work on him. He may think that they are watching----They are not. Oh sure, they'll drive by on routine runs throughout your town (if you normally noticed officers drive by occasionally before the raid went down) AND if the officer that is driving by is familiar with your situation than he might give a passing glance---(they do this to keep a tab on what cars are parked in front of your house regularly. They are searching for high traffic that would re-indicate that your buddy is back in business)---
If your buddy shows up to get booked, which the police are hoping that he is dumb enough to do, than he may give a confession and do all the hard work for them. They have up to one year to act on any charge. What the police like to do is wait for as long as possible---make their suspect sweat. Make him nervous, and when he (your buddy) thinks the coast is clear, they hope that he will start selling again, or at least start smoking again. They will be back. It may take 8 months, it may take the full year, but that's what the police want you to think (that you never know when they will be back) Just keep in mind that they will come for him.
This all happened to a buddy of mine back in February. Same story, only they found an ounce and some lights instead of plants and pounds. My friend gave the police every oppurtinity to charge him. When my buddy called his lawyer up and found out that after 4 months that he still hasn't been officially charged nor did he have warrent out for his arrest---did he decide it was time to pack up and move. He moved from my state to Alaska. Your buddy might not have to move that far, but I do recommend that he definately MOVES. Out of state would be the best idea, but at the least out of whatever county that you guys currently reside in. That way this doesn't follow him and he can avoid the arrest. If the police come back and your friend isn't there, they will file everything away and in the end, they only keep his stash. Cheers and good luck to the future.

My friend was selling probably around 2 pounds of headies a week. He got busted after a kid who he sold ounces to got busted selling in a dorm building and ratted him out to get himself off. About half a dozen narcotics officers busted in his door with a battering ram and guns pulled. They handcuffed everyone that was in his apartment. In total they found 4 ounces of weed and probably around $2,000 and like 25 pieces of glass totally over $4,000 (no weapons or any other drugs). Everyone that did not live in the apartment was let go after being searched.
They questioned my friend in his apartment after everyone else had been let go. They tried to convince him to rat out a larger dealer and he told them he would consider it and complied to some questioning but not all. After about 3 or 4 hours they let him go without ever taking him down the station. The next day he got a lawyer and decided he would not rat anyone out.
Since then it has been almost 6 months and he has not talked to the cops in easily 4 months and his lawyer in over 2 months. He is still living in the same apartment and has the same phone number so the cops can easily get in touch with him however they have not contacted him at all or sworn out a warrant for his arrest or even officially charged him.
Does anyone know of anything like this ever happening?
Any idea what he should do? (the cops at one point told him he needed to come to the station and get charged but this was months ago and my friend has been kind of avoiding it...)
Should he continue waiting for the cops to make him come in or should he turn himself in?
Would it be evading arrest if he left the state since he has still not officially been charged?
Any comments or help welcome
Yeah, he will get his. The U.S. court system never forgets (unless they forget to show you your next court date, which always happens and results in warrants because cops are fucking douchebags) but good luck to your friend.

Thanks for actually giving me some real advice on the situation. I was pretty much figuring that this was the reality of the situation but without knowing anyone else who had ended up in this situation wasn't completely positive. I know they aren't watching his every move or anything like others have speculated because he had a qp and that's just a waste of resources really.
The main reason he hasn't left the state (or even the county) is cause he is in college up here so he is trying to avoid dropping out... Now that being said he is leaving the country soon for a semester abroad so if he manages to make it that long he may just never come back to the country

someone that i know extremely well got busted delivering pounds across state lines... they came and arrested him and shit.. and then released him without ever being charged... for six years he had this shit over his head... on the 5th anniversary of it happening, he called my mom all gloating that it has been five years and nothing has come of it and he thought that the time was up that he could be charged for the crime... fast forward about another two years.. he was in bed one morning with his girl, feeling all smug, thinking he got away with the shit and that the feds forgot all about him and all, and whammo... feds kick in the front door and take him downtown and finally charge him for the case... this shit took almost 7 years to, i am soooooooooo not lying or making this up at all... i know that what i am talking about is federal charges and what you are talking about is only local pd, but believe you me, they will come and get your boy as sure as the sun rises in the east every morning...
the f-ed up part is that after 7 years, he could have already done his time and been out by now, but instead he is still dealing with the courts and has yet to even been sentenced yet.. it has been pushed back yet again.....
