Default I'm calling it...CA will legalize marijuana in 2010
Yea, you heard it here, today... Absolutely no doubt about it. Pot will be legal in California in 2010.

Californians are complete idiots if they don't. The time is ripe, with the budget deficit, and the CA economy already dependent on it. The people are screaming for it, even willing to say "go ahead and tax me." If not now...WHEN?

In addition to tax dollars, if CA is first to do it, they will also get a boost to the tourist industry. Millions from all over the country, will head out in trains, planes and automobiles (can you say big fucking appliance truck?) to stock up on a couple years stash. I know I'll be heading out there. I've seen on TV, the huge selection of fine herbs they have.

I salute all you California pioneers of the cannabis industry. You may have finally did it. From the brave souls, back in the 60's, who risked jail to perfect the fine art of growing sinsemilla, to the people of today, that have made it a mainstream industry.

Thank you

it might be legalized, but not in a way that really suites the wants and needs of our cannabis community. i predict nothing but a ruined potential for appropriate progression.

still better than nazi germany, lol.

All it takes is one.
If there is any improvement in a state's economy if this were to happen, AT ALL, you can bet that other states, that were previously hesitant, are going to be seeing $$ on the horizon. And as we all know, $$ is what drives politics/politicians. Good luck to both CA and Mass, although I'm from TX, your examples and our current situation (the whole Mexican Cartel thing) could eventually lead to and me being - .

That's good news to me about Mass. If they both do it, it will be a domino affect across the country. Eventually every state will legalize it. Who will be the last?

My guess is, the price will drop like a rock. With so many people growing their own, demand will drop. Potency will rise, by pro growers trying to get people to buy theirs instead of growing schwag.

And....cops will have more time to enforce laws against violent crimes, or maybe we can lay off a couple thousand DEA agents.

After further thought, I wonder if legalization is really what I want.

It would be nice to walk into a shop, and pick out a bag of whatever strain I fancy. Purple kush one day, purple haze another. A whole ounce of blonde lebanese hash. A dozen brownies, guaranteed to make me trip.

But then, wouldn't that take the fun out of it? Isn't part of the fun, it's illicit nature. The thrill of avoiding the cops.

It would be interesting to live in a world where pot was legal. And yet, I think I would miss the way things "were."
