Hello, here is a situation i would wonder your opinions on....

Let's say there is a guy named Tom

Tom mailed something USPS of the green variety (using fake return name, real return address that was not his and fake recipient name, real recipient address) to an aunt across the country. Old auntie wasn't home to sign for it so it turns around and goes back to where it started.

With nobody to accept the package at the return address, it will wait to be claimed at the post office....

Well Tom doesn't like the idea of going to claim the "return to sender" package. So he figures it will go to one of two places that house dead mail - St. paul, Minnesota or Atlanta, Georgia.

Once it gets there...Then what? Will they just dispose of it? Tom might guess there are close to a million undelivered packages and they will just dispose of this small amount.

what is the small amount you guesss??

just let it go and hope for the best. not a good idea to mail anything but if ya do you can check a lil box that says no signature required...... seems like goin out tryin to get arrested

well he cannot go claim it if he wanted to, you need a vaild id, and if he used a fake name then good luck. USPS dont bend for anything. i would ljust call it a loss and if any question come up about it i would just deny everything!

hell no. dont do it. you have nothing to do with anything that is even suggestively relative to anything illegal.

but since it could not get delivered in this situation, off to the Mail Recovery Center it goes....then it will be opened and hopefully destroyed. Does this seem like a proper conclusion to reach? if anyone has any usps work knowledge, perhaps they could contribute on the process of finding contraband in such a place.

In this scenario, tom might venture a guess that anything they cannot sell at auction would get destroyed, like porn or guns or other drugs.

Dude its a loss thats a fact. This guy tom put down a fake sender address and fake name. Tell tom to tell his aunt to not say shit and say idk what the fuck that was sent for and or who sent it.

I mean im sure if they WANTED to they could easily find the recpieant then they could see where the package was shipped from. And the po it came from is near tom's. So they could find out that toms aunt has a nefue tom who lives near where the package came from and then check it out.

So they know its tom, but they cant prove shit so tell tom to chill out an djust be more careful next time. i.e. fuck usps unless tom gets on his shit with shipping stuff.

well, since in theory, nobody could get it, off to the dead letter it goes with millions of others....tom might think he was lucky to see it go away into a pile of millions.
