Ive been looking on the net here for a bout an hour on cultivation laws, for the state of il. Ive seen the normal web site, and that tells me how many plants i can grow and thats all good. But i have yet to see an answer to my question.
If i get busted growing the 5 plants for a misdemeanor can they screw with my wife and kids. and the five plants is from seed to bloom correct.
or if anyone can explain what counts as a plant that would be great.
but the main thing is my kids an wife, can my wife get jailed also and can my kids get taken away some how.

Dude, dont put your wife and kids at risk by growing in your house. A plant is a plant and the cops dont care what stage its in. They could take your kids away for variations of child abuse, neglect, endangerment, controlled substance in the presence of a minor yada yada yada...
Go find a spot out in the woods for next year.

Id love to just find a spot in my suburbia jungle, next year. but this doesn't help me out now. I use it for medical reasons. and the price isnt affordable to me due to the fact of medical reasons im unable to work. all i can barly afford is crapy shwag. and this only somewhat helps me. And to grow enough to keep on hand for the winter use would land me in jail for shure. for trafficing. This is the only reason that im looking to expand my operation. to the 5 plants. Its just diffacult to get the medication with out endangering my family. ive been looking for alternatives, but caniibis is the only thing that helps me.
I plant to grow in my basement that is more like a crawl space that i can unaccessable to others by locking the doors. and ive been growing upstairs for at least two years now, but im looking to expand to the five plants in hope to grow enough to support my medical needs.
If anyone has any good ideas let me know, I just dont want my kids taken away.
A good freind of mine got raided by the fbi and held his 7 yr old at gun point but never messed with taking him away or even threatening.
Althou im not wanting my child to go threw something like that, Im still trying to figure out how to do this .

I don't have an answer, but this is just another example of a good citizen having to fear for their lifestyle for a harmless choice that would other wise be a non issue if the laws weren't in the interest of greedy people.

candylime they can but as long as your wife does not smoke it and you are not selling it they usealy well not. not for a misdemeanor anyway. do you have a shed or out building if so grow out there that way all your wife knows is that it is your work shop put a pad lock on it and you should be fine. hope this help's

No out building, but i do have a root celler that is what i was planning on using. my problem is . the gas meter is also in the root celler. This one is the tickler of the problems, my plan is to lock it up and call in my meter readings, and possibly rig the door to shut off my lights when you enter the room. i was thinking of making it look like a closet for clothes, but am i fooling my self. ive talked to the gas co and they said that they only have to read it once a year. and with out the light on its fairly dark down their? should i be concerned or am i just being paranode.
My ol lady doesn't smoke much as is, But most importantly i dont want the kids involved.

Hey candylime,

Make sure your grow area isn't accessible to the kids. That's the main thing they'll be concerned with. If the plants are in a locked room where the kids can't get to them, they can't possibly say you've "endangered" your children (As if a growing plant that isn't poisonous were dangerous to kids in the first place - seems if they want to go that route they'd have to arrest every parent who smokes cigarettes around their children, as that's WAY worse than having some plants in the house. anyway...)

I dont plan on selling, because i believe that weed should be grown and given as a gift and shared. But with society you dont have that choice.
I grow currently upstairs and have clients over to get tattoo work done and no one have ever mentioned anything about smell or nothing. but i dont really have people over other than in my shop area. i dont smoke with no one. so I should be ok, just paranoid about that gas meter thing, called in hopes of haveing it moved for everyone conveniance and its like 2500$ to get it done and its outa the question right now. and idea's of how to hide this grow room???

I can't really give you any advice on how to keep your grow hidden. Mine is pretty much right out in the open as far as stealth goes. It's tucked away in a corner of the house where nobody really ever goes but me (it's a closet on a mud porch/laundry room that houses all my yard/garden tools, lawnmower, etc), so even if someone sees the door and asks "What's in there?", I simply answer "Lawnmower and stuff" and that's that. The fact that I have kids explains the lock on the door, and nobody ever gives it a second thought.
