Default What is the law regarding landlords showing up at tenants place?
I'm moving out of an apartment building into a house. It is just 2 BR, single family house-just me living there. Im a little concerned about my landlord though-he said he may show up once in a while, but may call first. Is there a law regarding landlord's just barging in on their tenants? Ive never had it happen before....

in california there is i think 24 hr notice

Most places are a min. of 24hrs contact your local rentalsman or equivalant and AFTER you move in let him know he will need to provide you with 24hrs or what ever it is notice. BTW Notice where ever I have been HAS to be in writing NOT a phone call!

Yes there is a law. I am dealing with the same thing. excessively nosy landlord. Unfortunately the law is that they only need to give 24 hours notice. By notice i mean they can tape a letter to your door(even if your not home or out of town) and then they wait 24hours and open the door with there own key!...........its bullshit! If you find out different let me know. I would love to nail my landlord!

No matter that the landlord was on the property illegally.

Just make sure your grow is out of sight, preferably behind locks that your landlord doesn't have a key to. Tell your landlord that you have a large reptile (in a cage, of course) but that you prefer to keep the room locked just in case he happens to escape his cage, or something like that.

or you can do what im about to do and get the FUCK out of these douche bags apartment and rent myself something from a NON ASSHOLE TIGHTWAD.....
