Funny, that link doesn't say anything at all about thermal imaging being used to detect outdoor grows.


Plants don't give off heat. thermal imaging isn't the same as infrared imaging.

You guys are most likely thinking of spectral radiance, which is the how the light reflects off of something. This can be measured with a technique known as "remote sensing".

Here's a link to an article from 2003 on how remote sensing *could possibly* be helpful in identifying outdoor cannabis grows (at the time, they couldn't seem to distinguish between cannabis and other herbaceous plants, I don't know if they've had any success since then because I can't seem to find any documents published later than 2003).

You are right. I did mix up my terms, sorry. I've posted about all this in great length before, spectral and herbaceous etc. etc. but the message always comes down to a Govt. agency with almost limitless funds (your taxed earnings) using better and sneakier equipment while we here on the ground have almost no options. At some point, they will be able to bust whomever they CHOOSE.

Of course never underestimate satellite imagery. They are a lot better than the govt. lets on.

Not trying to scare anyone, but the tech is growing, and it's not on our side. I feel like a Chewbacca.

People should be scared, I know I am.

I don't trust law enforcement as far as I can throw them, despite a bunch of laws put in place to protect OUR rights and our privacy, but the cops really could care less about the actual law - because they think it doesn't apply to them.

It's like the whole, having to have a warrant to do a FLIR flyover thing. Of course they know they're supposed to have a warrant, but they know that once they've already done the "illegal" search they will turn up plenty of "probable causes" AFTER the fact so like you said, they don't have to mention the illegal search at all.

Shit like that makes me scared to throw out my trash, you know?

There is a trend working at a global level. Prior to 1950 or so, technology was about making your life better, but since it has been about gaining control over the individual. They use positive tools like TV and radio (why does the govt. care so much that ppl won't make the digital leap?! uh huh....), to Predator drones and satellite imaging to the green movement even.

Yes, it is scary.

check out barry cooper he has video on how to handle pumping heat. this prob isnt necessary for 150 watt but bigger grows. it has been made illegal to use therm without warrant by us supreme court. check out kopbusters on youtube. barry cooper claims that they still used therm but lie to get a warrant once they are sure that you are growing.

Of course they go around the warrants. They still use the copters and look at everybody. Then they cross reference anything else suspicious, and whammo, your door is going down, for "other" reasons.

Saw this thing on SWAT one time and the guy said its too expensive to scan a whole area so he said they get a warrant on a house 1st and then can that house and the surrounding homes.

bottom line, we gotta start killing these motherfuckers. no technology will help someone who might have to pay for his wrongdoing. they act with impunity and this needs to stop. need to set up a house like barry cooper did but rig it with explosives. lol search warrant!!!! ka boom
