Happened to me a couple times in my area.plead inncocent and you will go thru garbage possibly, plead guilty and you get both chrages our record, sucks for jobs and applications, but i have a paraphenia on my record, and have no problem wooing an interviewer off her feet.

If youre goin to be a lawyer, or neuropathoscientoligistic astronaut, sure go the whole way man! innocent they got the money to do it too.

Anyway to keep of your criminal rec would be great but it sucks for just chump change on 20 dollars of a gram and a simple "juvenile" mistake, its on your record for life and holds you back sometimes for potential employment, and that 20 dollar bud and pipe could mean a better paying job for us that didnt hire you because of the sytem marked ya so now we gotta get the lower paying job. and that 20 dollar sack held us back from making 100,000k extra potential over the course of our lifetime due to not getting the higher paying job. Tell that to your lawyer.

On second thought, Its up to you what kind of work you do, and the employment level you need to be happy in life to make what you want out of it. A stupid drug charge will not hold you back from flipping burgers, or taking someones blood at the hospital, its up to you, Good luck to you man.

Bike Racer- really since your in cali your should not be making comments about this Texas issue. In Cali you can buy weed thru Drs. and its a freakin ticket deal. Go to Texas and your dealing with a hole nother story dude. It can make a huge difference in this guys future employment opporturnity with weed on his record. He may not realize it but in Texas they look at busted small amounts of weed in the same light as other crimes. He should get a lawyer and deal with this the best possible way unless he only cares about flipping burgers as a profession. If he is under age and it could be off his record would be great as well. Let's hope this changes but Texas has so much dealing with mexican drug cartels that the law bunchs them and weed smokers in much of the same club...I don't see med. marijane in Tejas until federal law legalizes in Texas. Too conservative a state...Much much different then Cali...my friend even small amounts.

lastly bike racer....the President/past presidents admited to drugs but didn't ever get busted with them and were already in VERY high profile jobs before admitting drug PAST. Notice they DO NOT support drugs. They have such political influence now it makes no difference in their career. Not the same for others.

that sucks i say after your little court case is over you move to a state with med laws, you need us and we need you.

presidents support drugs just not the ones we like pharmaceuticals/ciggs/alcohol lol. and bush had arrests for these things(dui/cocaine) but hes a bush so he does as he pleases. i have gotten in trouble for serious crimes when i was young thats why this seems like an overreaction to me. getting all worked up over 2 grams of cannabis is not necessary if you were not dealing its a scary experience but nothing too bad will come of it. i use to live in idaho which was pretty conservative still a 2 gram pot charge is no big deal. when you get into felony territory thats where it really affects jobs and such.

go on to normls state to state drug law facts it will show you what your states punishments are. that should make you feel better.

in texas 2 oz or less is a class b misdemeanor punishable by 180 days and/or $2000 fine
para is a class c misdemeanor and up to $500 fine

exactly fine+probation is what you will probably get whatever it is there will be no jail time unless there are priors or your some gang banger but you dont sound like one. sucks but life goes on i have been in trouble as well. it will be in the past soon enough.
