Mary jane can harm you?

Ok
now.. i dont know if this is a true fact.. and im not saying its not true. I just wanna know what you guys think..
ok.. so i was googling schizophrenia.. because.. idk why i think i heard someone say it in a movie i was watching last night or something.. but i ran into an interesting "fact" on wikipedia. Under the "drug abuse" section... and it reads: A 2007 meta-analysis estimated that cannabis use is statistically associated with a dose-dependent increase in risk of development of psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia." WTH?
is this true guys.. and im not sure but.. im sorta new to weed.. and i need reassurance.. thanks
oh and i didnt know which column to post this in.. soooo i chose this one randomly.. not any way trying to question the legiticmacy of the mother nature =]

I believe that.. I also believe it can alleviate certain disorders in other individuals.. It affects brain chemistry, why wouldn't it affect brain function..
Every Pro
marijuana article you read 99% of them site there sources. Of every site that slams
marijuana not one I have encountered yet sites any study or scientific report.
Don't be equally ignorant and misinformative on the other side of the fence, just stop getting your information from news networks and blogs etc.. There is a ton of legitimate research on the issue.. Tossing the word 'abstract' into your google seach can help reduce result to more scientific ones..

Friend of mine has had multiple schizophrenic episodes as a result of smoking too much weed for long periods of time. He's been picked up on the streets wandering the sewers and kept in a psyche ward twice because of these episodes. He's a very sane guy otherwise. His grandfather had the same problem, and schizophrenia runs in his family. Evidently, the people at the psyche wards see this all the time.
Edit: I should mention that it takes him about 2-3 months of constant use before he disappears and someone gets a call saying he's in custody.

No studies I know of have even attempted to establish a cause/effect model.. Psychology is largely based on statistics regarding norms..

That's because they know that bud is harmless, if they do scientific research...they'll PROVE that they are WRONG, they're not gonna do that.
Check out this site, this is a neutral website that does research on all kinds of things not just weed... look at the Pros and Cons of bud. Click here.

The thing is that people with disorders such as schizophrenia often self medicate with herb for a long time before they have true mental breakdowns. It's very hard to determine if it's the cause.
