In this economy I feel like cops everywhere are realizing that money spent toward investigating grow ops is just throwing money away. It's a lost cause and nobody in their right mind is going to spend a shitload of money to trace a bunch of random IP addresses in hopes of busting a few big grow ops in order to put a bunch of innocent people in jail on taxpayer expense. Violent crime is on the rise everywhere so I'm pretty sure cops have bigger fish to fry than a dude trying to grow a couple of pot plants in his closet. I could be wrong though so if you're paranoid use one of those proxy servers.

Just don't give out personally identifiable information about yourself or location.

As long as you dont have a Huge Grow opp right next to a public school, they probably have bigger fish to fry. I would not worry About anyone tracking your ip. Just Mind Growtech's words and keep your private information your own.

thanks bros, it's just that this is my first grow and i don't want anything to ruin the experience. i come home home from work and kiss my wife and kids and then go out and hang with my plants. they're starting to grow on me, you know what i mean.

yeah 9 times out of 10 the grower is what ends up ruining the experience, by talking to people about his/her op... best to keep that a secret from your kids, and possibly even a wife if she runs her mouth a lot... best wishes.

The police would have to get a warrant to get the ip address from the server anyways. Its not like they have magical power over the internet and can see all/ control all.

are you kidding me? you think the only way to track ip addresses is through this server?? look around online, major telecommunication companies GIVE the NSA a copy of ALL traffic. WE DONT KNOW WHAT THEY"RE DOING WITH IT!!! ITS BUSH'S LITTLE SECRET. I gaurantee you, they could write a program that harvests data from this site and puts us all in a database, it is effortless for them to collect your name and personal info by cross referencing this with your other web data. THIS IS NEW! they werent doing this 10 years ago because its technically illegal (but what do I know about information ethics, i'm just an it student). Still, I come to this site because I believe they have bigger fish to fry....

your IP address isnt your street address, and it doesnt lead to your house. for instance, when i search my IP address it takes me to a whole other state.

they can hack and get your info, but they cant use that info against you in court. so hacking RIU's servers to get your info to bust your personal grow isnt going to benifit them one bit.

your personal grow is safe. theres guys posting pics of uberpoundage that have been here for years without getting busted.

That's an awful lot of effort for law enforcement TBH. Just don't post picture of a grow so big it makes you a trophy fish.
