I was put on probation (PTI) in New Jersey right.... I moved to New York and my probation officer knows this, but they never told me if I was allowed to do my community service in New York... And she is on vacation for three weeks and I can't get a hold of anybody with information and I really want to make a dent in my 50 hours, but I don't want to waste my time doing services for New York if they're not going to accept it... By any chance would somebody be kind enough to give me input or an answer? Thanks! + rep too...

I think, unless it is pre arranged or if your probation was transfered to New York, that you need to do your community service in the state where the offense took place. Try to get a hold of someone at the probation office to confirm. Good luck.
