Default landlord question
i live in canada ontario thats enough being said, can your landlord go threw your house looking threw your cabinets and dressers?? or are they only limited to wut ever is visualy left out (with the exception of your closet) and i know they ahve to give 24 notification before just showing up. and no my landlord hasnt done this to me but im just tryna figure out a few loopholes in the law. also say your roomates door was locked and he wasnt home and your landlord wanted in the room wut would happen in that case?

have no clue But I would assume he could go into cabinets and closets that house utility's Like plumbing or ductwork or hot water heater ,, Not your bedroom closets and dressers

i really cant say for cannada since im in the states but most landlords wont come by if they get their checks on time and i would tell them no my roomates not here im not going to let you go in his room with him not here maybe a candaian well fill us in

It's against human rights to invade your privacy, they can't go in your bedroom let alone your closet, unless there is something they need to fix for your safety or for keeping the building in proper maintenance. They can give 24hrs notice, but you can sometimes still tell them they're not allowed in. If they give 24 hours notice to fix a plumbing problem, you may have to let them in, but if they give 24 hours notice that they're going to change your screens on your bedroom windows you can say no thank-you. If they're in your kitchen fixing plumbing they aren't allowed in your bedroom or bathroom.

In regards to your roomates locked room question, if someone on the lease lets the landlord in, it's not illegal. It's like being invited into a home, just because one person doesn't want you int there doesn't mean you legally have to leave. If you're invited in by a resident, you're a guest.

The only time they can go in your apartment without any warning, is if they need to in order to fix something that could ruin the building, or risk the safety of other tennants (ie if your place is flooding out into the hallway, they can go in and fix immediately).

I'm assuming you're worried about a landlord finding a grow/stash, but I wouldn't worry too too much because they will never take the stash from you, so you can always get rid of it and then ask them wtf they are talking about and deny the entire thing.

when you set up your grow keep in mind that you will have to be able to tear it sown or hide it with in 24 hours. I did mine in a half hour test when I thought i had too. lol,

I have since learned my landlord is a little less seen, thank god. I am glad I have an ozone generator in case i got to put some plants in bags on the balcony.

my tents collapse fast.

gotta know your landlord..is he an asshole or cool guy or...

I have rental property and I can tell you, as long as the check is there on time, I don't come around.

but in tennesse I can go in anytime as long as I think there a problem.

If I for some reason wanted in your bedroom, I would use the excuse that there was rat problem and we were looking for the source.

if you are planning to grow while living in rental property you need know it's unsafe because a landlord can come in any time he wants.....

put a lock on your grow room door before you do anything. but dont change the outside locks too fast. A guy changed the outside locks so his landlord called the cops right away. Grow got busted. Also get a dog if you are allowed, or one of those big cats. A big cat will cost about 1000 or more so factor that in.

as a landlord and a grower, I really don't want people growing marijuana in my house.
