If so, It hasn't affected me at all.

Consequences are essancially the same still 14 years for supply. but now its gone from 2 - 5 years for possession.

If it's US ... I wasn't aware that any of the laws changed.

it's tricky. especially if your talking about u.s. me and my wife just started talking about moving to CA so i can grow some tomatoes. of course, fed laws still prohibit poss. or growing. also, since the CA state sup. court can't make a decision, every county in CA makes thier own guidelines for how much you can grow and possess. anyway, local laws did change in many counties, lowering the amount you can gr-poss, but i think that was a few years ago.

While you are at it .... just move to Alaska. State supreme court ruled possession of small amounts of pot in the home is constitutional. They also ruled that growing less than a certain number of plants (I think it was like 20, but don't quote me) inside your own home is legal, covered by the state constitution, and also covered under the right to privacy.
