My HOA is complete BS. My wife and I attended an HOA meeting and were completely disgusted by what were witnessed.

First of all out of the over 200 homes in my neighborhood, only like 20 were there. And about 16 of them had complaints that were just ridiculous, ie. a fence was down being repaired and one guy did not like to look into a backyard, sombody's car sitting out infront of their own house. BS like that.

Second, and this is what really pissed me off. The group discussed raising the fees to weed out the "lower class". I heard several comments made about a another black family, but did not catch who or what was completely said.

All in all I would like some advice on what actions I can take to remove the current people who are in charge.

Any help is a appreciated, and +repped.

A failing economy means we were recently able to get a huge mansion-like house in a neighborhood of two million + dollar homes for an absolute killing. We mind ourselves and don't bother anyone... We are a typical upper-middle class white christian family. Good right? WRONG not good enough for them! We planted baby trees, which apparently are an eyesore. You can only have trees if you buy them already grown (WTF)

HOA's are total bullshiot, and we just ignore what they say to us. What are they going to do? Evict us from a house we paid for because we painted the outside yellow? Don't even pay their fees, they have no legal ground to stand on usually; with the exception of situations where you have duplexes and apartments and thigns like that,.

You should have familiarized yourself with the neighborhood by-laws before you bought, no one twisted your arm to buy into that neighborhood. If the complaints your neighbors have are consistent with the by-laws then they are not "bullshit". My guess is your association rules delineates penelties for non-complinace and methods of collection

I have that same shit here and now I intentionally fuck with them to no end. They can fine you and it's legal and if you don't pay they can put a lein on your home.

Ok, fine... I also found out that they have to give me warnings and time to correct things, and they have to put things in writing every time they want to bitch...

So, I screw with them every day for 6 years now. I push every thing to the limit and only correct each problem I intentionally created at the very last minute.
I like being a constant thorn in their sides, stuck up controlling assholes...

The HOA was in its infancy when I had my home built here, so there was no standard to judge by. There are more important items which could have been discussed instead of whining like some beyotches.

I have paid once and not again. I received a bill with the new amount, which is double than what it used to be. F*ck the uppity ass people.

Nice one Oregonmeds- I also have a hoa and brad is kinda right, no one twisted your arm. But you can elect or have someone elect you in for the next term, they prob send you fliers for all the stuff "THEY DO???" They dont cut my mf grass. But anyhoo-They can put a lean on your house including outlandish fees.So if you dont pay they make out in the end with all the late fees. I got kicked out of my pool last 4th of july because they "thought" I was drinking alcohol in the enclosed pool area, well I fkin was! It was in a tall ruby tues. cup, can fit 2 beers btw. Well dude refilling cups was seen, and questioned upon coming back inside the pool. They asked who the other cup was for, they then proceeded to kick me out. I told the lifeguard that he didnt see me drinking it and had no right to kick me out under suspicion only. I said to the group we were with FUK-IT lets go, because I cursed they wouldnt let me back that season. BS!!!!
I didnt pay them for almost a year after that but it cost me more in the long run. They do suck but live in one-just have to deal untill you move.

That is the thing. There is nothing in our community that requires regular maintenance. We have a park, but they signed that over to the city. Did you not read my post. Just because the have by-laws does not make them right. I see you have had probs with your HOA.

I do not wish to run for the position, nor do I want to be a part of an organization that discriminates. Discriminating is low class.

I feel thats the first way to erradicate the problem. I know no-one wants to see a car on blocks in the yard and that is why hoa's were started, besides the $. So having an inside position, would be a step towards bringing down the man. I really dont blame you on the politics side, but thats what a hoa is, a small governing body, built on greed, to controll who lives there and who doesnt. They are shit no 2 ways about it man. But you asked how to get them out, yes I read your post, and that is to get in a position and vote them out.
