Just had a fun little thought and figured I would share it… Good or bad, effective or not, it’s just a though. I’m not even sure if I would do it or not. It sure as hell wouldn’t be for anyone but someone growing for personal use… This would most likely bite you in the ass if you sell.

Before you start anything, remove any and all evidence of our chosen hobby from your residence… Pipes, papers, roach-clips, pot and so on.

In preparation for a grow operation; purchase all of your equipment and supplies as conspicuously as possible; bring all of your newly acquired items in through your front door in broad daylight asking neighbors for help with the heavy items. You could even go as far as getting them to help you hang the reflective material, lights and ventilation systems.

Build the most sophisticated grow room that your budget will allow and make it no secret whatsoever. Well, I wouldn’t go overboard and have four-thousand watts of lights or anything huge like that. Again, this is a thought for someone growing for personal use.

Then, stock your grow room with every possible herb you can find and a few select flowers that you would like to plant around your property come spring time. You could even root a few plants you’ve found around your area or have gotten from neighbors.

After a few weeks of tending to your new legal garden, leave a few items that would point to the fact that you have a grow room set up lying around outside in full view of anyone that happens to stop by.

Here’s where the fun starts… From a payphone call in an anonymous ‘I know of a grow room’ tip on yourself, to the local police department. Then, kick back and wait. They’ll do their thing and when it’s all said and done, they will have found nothing but herbs and flowers! If they don’t come in force, and it’s simply a knock at the door, give them a tour. Wait another week or so and call in that same tip to your local sheriff’s office. Once they’ve made their visit, start back with the police and this time ask why nothing’s been done since your last ‘tip’, then hit the sheriff’s office up again with the same question.

Depending on how they treat you and your property while they are there, you could even have a nice tidy lawsuit to throw their way. At the point anonymous tips start equaling lawsuits; they’ll begin to look very unattractive to the establishment.

Down the road when you switched to your ‘normal’ grow this plan would provided you with some nice ammunition… A shit-load of reasonable doubt coming out of the gate, one hell of a reason to say “no, you’ve already looked around several times not, stop wasting your time, my time and taxpayers money”. Exercising your 4th amendment rights at this point won’t look like a sign of guilt even in the eyes of the police, it’ll come off as a “leave me the fuck alone” statement. Besides, what Judge would want to sign a warrant on your place after that many failed attempts and possibly a lawsuit or two? At the very least, it would cast some doubt as to the validity of the whole ‘anonymous tip’ process and waste a shit-load of their money, time and efforts.

Like I said, it ain’t nothing more than a thought, good, bad or otherwise. It made me chuckle when I thought of it and hopefully you chuckled as well.
