My liberty haze and others under the Fero AF600

Hey Guys

MY names Campo and I'M going to be doing a rolling journal of my "liberty haze" under LEDs
At the moment I have 4 liberty haze, 4 Blue widow and 2 northern light fems under my LED
I started the plants about a month ago in my "home made bubbler" and in general thing are cool
I transferred them out when they were about two weeks old into 7 L pots with a 50/50 co-co perlite mix and I use

a Hand watering to waste system.

DSCF2126.jpg here is a pick of my light running at 40%

With the AF-600 I was able to grow the seeds from germination using the seedling mode and by now at week 4 they are on the young veg mode with the lights running with switch 1 which is blue dominant around the 36" mark above the canopy

I'm using GH three part at abut 75% recommended for the stage of growth they are at and add a couple of mills of cal/mag to every 10 L of solution

When the Liberty Haze are a little bigger I will be putting 2 of them into 27L pots in a 4ft x 4ft tent with a scrog...
the other Liberty's and Blue Widows will be going under a different system
What i'm looking for is a good mum so I will be taking cutting/clones labeling them from all the plants to see which one I like best and keep 1 from each strain and decide which one to use after they have flowered ....and with any luck getting a stonking Liberty Haze mum:twisted:
I run about 1.5 K of LEDs at the moment and have no issues with any temp problems and my room sits around the 25ºc mark
When the outside temps are hotter I have a tiny air con that clicks on with a thermostat
I had terrible problems this summer with pythium as my water comes from a well (and this has a spore load) and I ended up losing all of my hydroponic plants :(
so until I get a way to remove it from the well or filter it out before it hits my room the hydro set up is put away into the shed

DSCF2124.jpg

anyway here is a few photos of my baby's at week 4 in their 7L pots It was a bit of a slow start due to the pythium but they have pulled through
I nipped out the dominant tips out of them about 7 days ago and am seeing some good healthy growth

DSCF2117.jpgDSCF2118.jpgDSCF2119.jpgDSCF2120.jpg

OK that's it for now any tips or comments welcome
At last I'm rolling again
It felt that I was banging my head against a wall the last couple of months :wall:
seriously it nearly broke my heart

I'll be following your journal. Not because I am growing LH's as well but because you are using LED's. Best of Luck.

@calicat how are you finding the liberty haze so far I will pop in and have a look hope she is worth the effort of selecting a mum as you are aware it takes a while

I tipped the plants twice on each of the new shoots I want them nice and bushy for this one
Ive checked one of the plants root and all is good healthy, white and strong
I have to watch it with light even at 50 % I have to keep an eye on cannopy height when they are at this stage
I am seing a little bit of purple on the stems of one of the LH and of course the blue widow but all is cool the plants are looking healthy maybe I have to up the feed to 1.0 ec instead of the 0.9 I am on now I will add a couple of pics in a bit

Definitely went all out on the light there :P... I am intrigued by this with 10 plants running under around a 50w/plant ratio. Have you ever grown this many before with this light? Or is this light only intended for veg?

hiya yeah sure I wouldn't be flowering ten under this 600 watt system unless I was going to grow them small...... but I like me girls on the fat side so I will probably only flower off 2-4 under this light
at the moment I have her on the veg mode which runs a 300 watt draw and when I switch to flower I will up the power and change the spectrum to 60% and then 100 % so she will be running at full whack
I love this light shes a monster maker...... cant wait to see these Liberty Hazes big just need to have a bit of patience :)
here a funny YouTube vid of this light get you dancing shoes on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIg_Y48Tt1Y&feature=g-upl

Hi guys......
having a look at the plants today I decided to re-pot them into 30L pots so off I toddled went to the local garden center and picked up the coco peat pelite and hydro pebbles
noramly I uae a 50/50 coco/perlite mix but this time ive decided to add more than the usual handful of hydro pebbles to the mix to see if I could improve aeration in the medium
so now the ratio I am using is 40% co-co peat 25% perlite and 35 % hydroyon so after making a huge mess mixing the medium and then promptly walking away to leave it for the missus to clean up:o I repoted 8 of the young plants into their final home......
I place the 30l pots into a slightly larger bucket and watered with my GH 3 part at 1.0 ec ph at 5.8
AFter an hour of draining I then remove the pot with the plant dispose of the 25% drain off and test the waste for ph and ec
AS expected the drain off PH was a little high 6.4 as this was a fresh mix thats normaly the case and the ec sat at 1.5 which is a little high but within I think acceptable limits
ok enough of the chat here they sit in their new 30 L homes after watering

In about 2 weeks will flip to flower on the liberty hazes. I was lucky and the seven that remained viable they were all the chemdog phenotype. Responds well to 1/4 strength foliar feeding with fulvic acid. I should be able to fim next Wednesday. They all responded well to the initial topping. Internode spacing is close. Oh and one LH I did scrog is responding well. So far with other posts that people have done Liberty Haze have been content as long as you get the chemdog phenotype. You get stuck with the g-13 haze it will be a long bumpy ride.

well guys I thought It was time for a quick update as its been another week wow don't time fly
So a quick recap of the week
I transferred all the ten plants into their 30 L pots and 4 have been put under the AF-600 the rest I have put under a older model led light which draws 650 watts ans a 340 watt adjustable
Both of which I have had good results from in the past
However one of the things about the AF-600 was the fact that I can adjust both the spectrum and power so with the AF now running at 50% power with the grow spectrum it will be interesting whether it will anywhere near keep up with the older full spectrum lights on full power which is double what I am running at the mo so the test will be for the next few weeks spectrum V power
I think I will grow them for another two to three weeks before I put them in their final "home box tents" and flower them off I like to grow em big
one of the tricks ive learned over the last few years is to grow big they need a nice strong stem to help take up all those nutes they will need so I tend to knuckle them at around 5-7 weeks into veg
anyway enough chatting here's a couple of pics two days after They were knuckled

hey guys thought It was time I put up a few more pics of the plants just as I am about to put them to flower
scrog2.jpgscrog3.jpgscrog4.jpgscrog5.jpgscrog1.jpg
When I was away the guy who was watering ph poisoned them so its taken a couple of weeks to get back into shape
I flushed them with ph'd third strength fed reduced the light intensity and started foliar feeding with the Plant Magic range of add ons
which has done them the world of good. I have to say at first I thought the plants were goners, but this plant magic stuff certainly did the trick.

They have been in their home box tents now for a few days - the above plants will need a few more days of scrogging before I put these onto flower.

I will post a couple more pics of the tent I am flowering as the plants are a little more advanced tonight when the lights come on.

Here's a couple of pics of the very good PM range I am testing outplantmagic4ç.jpgplantmagic1.jpgplantmagic2.jpgplantmagic3.jpg

I am using the root simulator as a as a supplement when I feed as well as the cal/mag
And the evolution and the bio-silicone alternately about every 4-5 days. Sorry to plug them so much but I think when you find something you are really surprised by,its worth sharing the knowledge. And they are from my old home town so it was good to hear a Bristol accent again!

I'm also loving the home box tents especially the 4ftx4ft grow lab series you should see the quality of the fabric stitching and venting options top notch German gear
when I switch on my extractor the tents positively suck their cheeks in, so I have lowered the setting and have got my environmental's perfect.... thanks to the LED's!

The scrog net is cool I like the fact It is elasticated the only criticism I have is I think the gauge is to big so I am ending up using garden wire as well to help keep their heads down Looking forward to seeing how all this kit is going to tie in together its been a while in the preparation.... as I said I will post some more pics tonight of the second Home Box growlab tent and plants tonight when the lights come on

ok so here's some pics of the ladies in the other tent. these were the ones that didn't suffer quite as badly in my absence, so are on day 2 of flower (the others are recuperating a few days more)

DSCF2261.jpg

Here they are inside the Homebox GrowLab tent. I love this thing and cant believe I've grown for 15 years without one!

DSCF2268.jpg

even after one day they need tying down again

DSCF2270.jpg

I also can't believe I thought these were dying 2 weeks ago! Look at them now ..

DSCF2264 (2).jpgDSCF2264.jpg

Time for more scrogging ...Once they are about 10 days into flower I'll remove all the leaves and tips that havent reached the scrog line so as not to waste plant energy in little popcorn buds.

Btw here's the left over Liberty Haze in the wardrobe (have to persuade the finance director to let me have some money for a mother tent!) : she was kept in the semi dark for 2 days so isnt looking her best, but I have her under a special veg only LED by Fero that only draws 200 watts (its only running at 100 watts at the mo) so I'm expecting a full recovery soon
