Love the various strains you have going! SSH is a personal favorite of mine. Interested to hear how your two leds compare to eachother, which seems like the better light? Good luck, peace and im subbed.
Whats good? Here is my set up, its a mix of hps and led. I will update with pics at least once a week.
I am using a Secert Jardin dr120 tent.
For LED Im running one Blackstar 240 flower plus an Ledwholesalers 300w panel. The actual draw on each panel is 135w and 128w respectively. I was very happy with my blackstar unit until......I found a damaged led in the panel like many others here have reported. I purchased that blackstar new from in march 2012 I have a one year warranty and I know they will stand behind it.
In the Hps department Im running a 400w hps on a digi ballast made by revolt. Its a simple bat wing reflector that accommodates metal hallide too.
I am growing with seeds that I have gotten from good bud I've bought from dispensaries. Such as super silver haze, purple romulan, C99, etc. I also like to have fun with my own crosses.
I have one plant that comes from a cross of a super silver haze and purple romulan. I had topped it @ the 3rd node when she (kaya) grew to her 6th node and made a nice bush. I took a few clones off her late in the game and threw em in the flower tent along with kaya. I then pollinated two of them with pollen from a super tight noded indica male.
I also took 8 clones off her when she was 3 weeks into flower and got em to root. they are now in 18/6 under led and will be "monster cropped"
here is a shot of Kaya the mother of the clones on the cooler. she is in ffof and perlite. Fed fox farms trio. she went into flower on 5/16

this is the top of a super silver haze that was vegged 18/6 for 4 weeks and then 12/12 on 5/16. Its in 40% ffof 40% perlite and 10% peat she is fed jacks 20-20-20 and bloom booster. She has a ways to go. this plant smells just like juicy fruit.

this is a random bag seed that was topped young and vegged for 4 weeks same soil and nutes as super silver. it has a fruity smell

this is a bad shot of a "two main cola" plant that was topped young and a quick veg same soil mix as above. This plant has no smell at all.

Keep on threadin. I like the light in that room, and I look forward to seeing the fruits of your labor.

Growth is controlled not by the total amount of resources available, but by the scarcest resource. When in doubt, test it out!
Thanks for subbing up Puff! Im glad to have you aboard. I too love the super silvers this particular pheno is so damn fruity I just wanna eat it.
I got the ledwholsalers unit used for $75 on the ole craigslist. This guy sold me some good gear that was hardly used at 1/4 the price. Ive had that panel for some time playing various roles and the plants just love it.
As far as the blackstar goes I'm torn. The price was good however I got the unit in march of this year and one led is already out. The unit makes noise but that does not bother me as I have the grow in my basement. Sometimes the fans squeak a bit. The plants love the spectrum that it provides and grow vigorously under the light. However I have concerns regarding long term use as the unit already has one led out and is only a mere 3 months old.
My current favorite led unit is not in my flower tent oddly enough. Its a no name led unit that I scooped up on the cheap.. It draws 80w and is great for vegetative growth so its hanging in my clone/seedling tent along side a sunshine system glowpanel45.
here is that tent

good to have you aboard too Iloveplants!!
Nice setup you have going. I love all the different strains, you have a lot going on. Definitely subbed.
One word on that Blackstar panel... Send it in as soon as you can to have it fixed. It is a known problem and once the diode is replaced you should be good to go. However if you wait too long that diode will take out other rows when it shits the bed.
Loving it Square, I've got three clones I'm going to be monster cropping once my current grow finishes in my CFL grow box and one that is currently blasting off in my LED grow box.
Sub'd fo sho.
Thanks for hoppin' on board, glad to have your input. Its funny that you posted this as I was just thinking about my options.
the diode is completely blown. What bothers me is that this unit is only 3 months old. IF i return it and they fix that led great, but what happens when the next led burns out... I gotta send it back again to be fixed in november? Maybe its best to hang on a bit longer and send it back in the fall? Looks like I gotta call Gotham up and have the talk.
This may be a LEGIT excuse to buy new panel
I took two pix while smoking a j of some trainwreck my buddy grew.

Nice girls square!............interested on what panel your thinking about...........keep up the great led grows brother![]()
Yeah, my panel is from March as well. Only around 3 months old. From my understanding it was a problem with the diode itself that they were using at the time. Because isn't that center one UV or IR? I forget. The ones they use now are not the same so there shouldn't be the same issue with it burning out within three months. Or so they say. That's why I'm just stressing you send it in as soon as you can because once it is remedied it should be fixed for good. Something to that effect. I'm baked.
Of course if you're looking for an excuse to buy a new panel it's as good of an excuse as any! lol! Been there, done that! haha.
