the blackstar 240 is about 150w and can roughly replace a 250w HPS
thanks for putting these up! i was thinking about doing 12/12 from seed. i have another homemade cab that im not using at the moment but might clone some in there. never done it before so it would be an experiment.
i saw a blackstar 240w on amazon and it says that it is 600w. is it 600w and used 240w? does anyone know?

the blackstar 240 flower actual draw is 135w confirmed on my killawatt.
I like my Pro-Grow 180 (~150w actual), but I would not recommend it (or any other similar size/wattage LED panel) for more than 2 plants.
Agreed brother...I have the pg 180 as well. Did a lot of research on pricing and reviews and fero and pro-grow were the most resonably priced at around $300. The Blackstar has decent reviews but it's marketed as a 240 that pulls less juice than the pg 180. Form your own analysis by researching as many sites and reviews as possible as there is clear deception on the actual watts pulled. Btw the pg has a switchable light...don't see the point and the fans are loud but is a pretty good unit overall. Fast discreet shipping too
Hey! I'm using an 90W UFO LED too, for a 0,6x0,6x1,5m grow space.
With this I right now have 3 autoflowers but am also thinking of buying another 1 or 2, totalling 180-270w
because I have so much bush, so I'd need at least two light for 3-4 plants, for it to penetrate fully.
LED's plus is also that it penetrates light better than HPS, MH or CFL but as it is lighter in wattage, it won't have so tense buds,
especially in the lower end of the plant - my main doubt in LED, which I haven't got around (probably because I have only done 2 grows)
is that the plants have enough buds, really good health and less maintainance than HPS but the buds seem to
not be too tight or if only the colas will be tight, they will be small (but again, this is for autoflower=AF).
But for you who say that those mentioned LEDs really give even less W than stated, how could I figure this out, as I cannot be sure of anything without trial and error or self practice.
PS! forgot to mention that where 3-4x weaker LEDs are advertised same as 400W HPS, than it is really meant that it will give out about the same amount of right wavelength for the plants growth, other wavelengths will mostly go to waste.
KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON!

blackstars are having too many problems with the LED burning out and plus HYDROFARM makes the kessil
Wasn't there a post recently about the owner of blackstar trying to sell the company on ebay? If so, I would cross them off the list of trusted LED companies...
