Super Friendly LED Party Cup Competition - rules/registration thread

Hello everyone! to my knowledge, this will be the first RIU LED party cup competition. I said friendly in the title because there is no prize for the winner yet

!

2 categories unless we only get 2 participants haha

-The Dankest, Frostiest plant
-Biggest yield

Lots of rules, I want to make sure everything is fair and also I don't want to have to wait 5 months to know the winner!!!

-Starting date: July 1st 2012
-Grown strictly under LEDs ( if you got CFLs in your flowering room, just keep em away from the cups and it should be fair!! absolutely no HIDs in the room whatsoever )
-12/12 from seeds (sorry no clones, 3 weeks is plenty of time to get seeds)
-Maximum 3 entries per participant (anyone using regular seeds can start up to 6, but only 3 can be kept in the competition after they showed sex)
-16 oz party cup only
-The roots have to stay in the cup, obviously you can't just put the 16oz cup on top of another container and have the roots going through, thats cheating!!
-update once a week including a picture of the plant/s with the LEDs turned off, it would be nice if everyone could try to take their pics from the same angle each time to better see the progression
-First update must include what kind of LEDs you are using, the strain/s, and a picture of the cup in it's environment. It will be up to you to decide whether or not you want to say what nutrients you will be using.

Hopefully we can get everyone to start germinating their seeds around the 27th ish and so everyone can have their seeds in 16oz containers by July1st! (I really want everybody to be at the same stage of growth so don't start your seeds before the 27th please, or else it will be hard to count you in!!)

Because this thread will probably get crowded with conversations and such, their will be an ongoing list on which you can add your name if you decide to join. I hope everyone can follow the enrolling procedure. It's easy, I am starting it right here:

This way, by the end of this thread we'll know who's in instead of having to go through the thread, we'll always know where we are at. The latest you can get registered for this competition will be June 31st with your seeds in the paper towel at the latest July 1st and your first picture will be of the seeds on the wet paper towel.

Hope it's clear, hope we get a good bunch and we can all have fun, I will probably try to find prizes for the winners like seeds or something but I can't guarantee anything just yet.

PLEASE READ everything before asking any questions, I will be away for 2 weeks shortly but we'll be back in time, so it's really happening!

you don't have to name it until the starting date, not a big deal most participants will probably use bag seeds!

Nice Puffenuff, we are off to a good start. Thank you for being the first one in!! It makes it easier for anyone else to follow.

(I dunno if you noticed but I edited my original post and if you start with 100% regular seeds, you can start up to 6 seeds, hopefully you'll get a few good seeds out of that old stash !)

I understand most people probably won't be using expensive seeds for this contest, I have collected a few over the last year, I figured, if I beat my first party cup grow, it is still well worth the 10$ for the seed. I think I will start 2 seeds from this pack http://vancouverseedbank.ca/product....-per-pack&r=mn (I got 3 seeds left, lemon skunk, white rhino and train wreck), and 2 regular seeds that are left over from Kenny's mix. So all fast indicas

Great idea Endurrox...........would love to join, but I don't think my panel can handle anymore girls(or the ones under it!

) just wanted to say thanks for doing this/ cool as shit bro...........I would totally line my party cup with copper hydroxide.....haha

I like the idea of the cup, but what I think is missing is a wattage class, I'm thinking of
is a 100 watts LED grow a match for a 1000 watts grow.

Maybe that's for later if it turns out that every winner also has used the most energy.

I'm sure automobile racing in the early stages would allow many different engine sizes
until it turned out that the winner most of the time also got the biggest engine volume.
The challenge comes when you get confined to some common factor like who can drive
the fastest with a 2000cc engine car, or beat the shit out of some guy
your own size, that's impressive

hehe we are going to start by getting at least 10 contestants haha... There is no prize for the winners yet so does it even matter!? it's just for fun but really if I can get my hands on prizes and we got enough people in it I will consider it, but the idea behind the party cup is mostly what you feed it, ... I don't know how in the world you could blast a full 1000W on a 16oz container!! so i think it's pretty fair in that regard, if you got a shitty light you'll just have to feed better to win I guess
