Black Dog Platinum XL LED grow

Alright, here we go, I have been talking about it for a week or two now and here it is.

Here are the logistics:
Area: 4' x 4.5'
Lighting: Black Dog LED Platinum XL
Light Mover: light rail which moves 10 inches.
Genetics:
8 Sour Kush
1 Sour D
3 Ghost Kush

I am using the light that was plugged into the kill-a-watt, It is a Black Dog Platinum XL, same light I used last grow.

The Ghost and Sour D are good producers, the Sour Kush is amazing but a low yielder. The 8 Sour kush and 1 Sour D are in a 3x3 table with a 50 gallon res. The 3 Ghost are in a 1x3 table with a 25 gallon res. I will be using AN A and B as the base nutrients, plus a few additives as I see fit. I have a plant cam set to take 3 pictures a night plus I will use a regular camera to snap better photos every now and then. It is going to be a hot summer and I don't have A/C so I hope I can keep the temps down.

For veg I used a BD360 and veged for 4.5 weeks. Here's a pic from the last day of veg.

I will have some photos after pruning and the first night of flower tomorrow

I tested the plant cam and it looks good. So at the end of this grow I will have a stop motion video as well.

You know, I work right by the Blackdog Office but I've never even considered them because they are so expensive, but results are results. Hope yours are the best!

Siddhartha,

Do you feel that the Platinum XL is twice the light of your BD360? I currently have 2 BD700's, one in the veg room and one in the flower room. I feel like I need more light in my flower room and wanted to know your comparison opinion on the two lights. Can you really see a 2x difference?

Thanks...

ps loved the book!

The fan leaf growth on the Sour Kush is defiantly indica dominant, but the smoke is sativa. And it finishes in 9 weeks. The Ghost, which is the three furthest to the right is Satavia all the way, but finishes in 8 weeks.

uaogal,
The XL is a lot of light. Yes I think it is twice the 360. Are you considering buying 2 bd360 to flower under? That is what i wanted to do but the XL actually has bigger chips then the 360 and I thought it would help with penetration in flower. If I could afford it I would have gotten 2 BD450, and they were going to cut me a deal on that, but still a bit more. Wish i could veg under a BD700, that must be awesome! Did you get the veg or flower spectrum on your 700 in veg? My BD360 is the flower and they vegged great and there was no sign of stress when I switched to flower, exactly what I was hoping for. You are the first person to catch the Herman Hess reference.

Sidd,

LOL, it must be our age?! Hess wrote some good books.

I got the veg BD700v and the flower BD700f (which I used for veg and flower before I got my second room set up). The veg is awesome! Biggest thickest bushiest plants I have grown. Almost too thick, I get a bit of yellowing in the center if I don't really spred them out. But I'm not too thrilled with BD700F. At this point I'm not too sure it is genetics on my Jack Herrer, or if I need more light. The JH I have been cloning for quite some time and it was from a clone given to me by my brother and I know for sure that it was original JH. But I'm beginning to wonder if it has indeed changed in it original genetics.

Day 3 updates,
So I kept bumping the plant cam so I moved it to a less in the way place and screwed it to the frame. Here are two updates, you can see ducting from my last HPS being ducted out of the room. You can also see the tubing for my CO2 going over the LED.
