I think you only have 'too much' light if your temperatures are too high, or you are burning your plants.
don't really know where to put this but can a grow room have too much light? and also what is a good brand of led to get for a room that is 3x4 or 3x3?

You can't have too much light, period.
First there is this, where light intensity over a certain point is wasted.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photosynthetic_efficiency
"Photosynthesis by D.O.Hall & K.K.Rao says that photosynthesis increases linearly up to about 10,000 lux or ~100 watts/square meter
before beginning to exhibit saturation effects. Thus, most plants can only utilize ~10% of full mid-day sunlight intensity."
Then there is bleaching going on with to much LED light.
So yes I think you can have to much light, it's properly a rare occurrence but for argument sake, I'll say yes you can.
They make more noise then I imagined that's for sure, and the thought of keep having a study with a closet grow is under consideration.
And they don't heat my room as well as my HPS did, they simply ain't using enough power and it's a bit chilly here right now.
I can't think off anything else that's negative about them.
But please share your experience Mr. vocabulary![]()

Never used LEDs
I apologize for my incessant rambling, but if you are patient there is inner hidden wisdom in most of my posts...Like playing literary "Where's Waldo."--------------- See, it's fun!
I have seen some great grows using led lights. The problem is that the cost of them is still to high as compared to any other system.
