Amaximus' Half-Assed CFL/LED First Grow™
Hey everyone. I'm currently planning a perpetual for my second grow but first I have to finish my very first grow.
My first grow was started with good intentions, basic equipment & 8 seeds.
It wasn't long before I realized I severely under estimated everything. How many lights I'd need. The soil, the nutes, THE SPACE!
Anyway I wont bore everyone with the details (unless asked) but this is where I stand:
Grow Space: 4'W x 2'D x 5'H
Lights: 180w Blackstar LED (Flowering), 5 - 45W 6500K CFL's & 2 - 2700K CFL's
Nutes: Jack's Classic All Purpose 20-20-20 with micronutrients & Jack's Classic Blossom Bloomer 10-30-20 with micronutrients
Plants: 4x Liberty Haze (Topped) (35 days into flowering)
1x Liberty Haze (LST'd) (1 day into flower)
1x Sweet Black Angel (LST'd) (1 day into flower)
1x Granddaddy Purple (LST'd) (1 day into flower)
Notes: I started all these girls at the same time. I bought a small tent and started flowering the first 4 girls and continued to veg the other 3 while LST'ing them because I had no space. I just got the big tent and now they are all flowering. First four should be done in about 4-5 weeks. Last 3 have a full 8 weeks to go.
Anyway, That's my story. I'm just trying to learn as much as I can for my next grow and finish this first grow out as best I can.

Nice on bro...is the 20-20-20 and the other one a granule? Or is it a liquid fert?

Jack's nutes are granules. Pretty much the same directions as most as well. It's the only nutrients I have ever used but so far i have zero complaints.
If you can get some more 2700 since your into budding now, will let your 6500's have more time doing what they do, vegging. keep track of on and off dates on bulbs as with CFL's like this, you have to switch them out of your grow after 9-12 months of use. I go 9 on veg and 12 on my lower ring of budding cfls.. looking real good though, real good. P3 ( puff, puff, pass ).

I agree. Of the seven CFL's I'm running I'd like five of them to be 2700K's but this is what I have right now. I'm gonna have to get more.
I do have like six 23W 2700k I could switch out that are new. I didn't bother to use them because they were such a low wattage and opted for the 45W 6500k's instead. Think I should just toss in the low watt 2700k's over them?
This being my first grow all these bulbs were pretty much bought at the same time new. I was going to wait 9 months or so and then relegate them to "house duty" anyway. That's my lazy way of keeping track. heh.

Yeah, I wasn't going to start a journal until the next grow but it became apparent that I needed someplace to dump photos and document a few things.
glad to have you aboard man. The girls are just starting to frost, very early stages so it's a fun time.
Very nice pics man, gotta love those purdy frowers. Ah' 'hem...anyways...I am pumped to see how the SBA turns out! Keep us posted man! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
