Just got back today from the Maximum Yield show up in SF. What a panic that was! HUGE SHOW and there was sooo much swag I bet I could open a small hydroshop. Totally worth the trip.

Of course I stopped into the IG booth and who do I run into but the infamous Ed Rosenthal and Chris Van Hook from Clean Green Certified. What is so cool about Chris is that he's a patient activist and attorney with his 40 years in agriculture. Chris set up a program that mirrors the USDA programs that certifies organic food products safety and created a program and standards for the MMJ patient so that they can be assured purity and safety when consuming their meds. I tried to pull down some show specials from IG but they weren't there to sell anything and what they had brought they had already donated to Peggy Bradley and her non-profit group http://www.carbon.org/ who were set up in the booth right next to them. Mostly what the IG guys were up to was showing off this new greenhouse control feature that moves the light levels up and down to meet DLI. Very impressive if you're in a greenhouse grow, which I'm not, but it's good to know it can be done. But I'd have to say that meeting with Chris, Ed and Peggy ended up being a truly unexpected treat.

Oh yeah, finished the trip on the way home with a stop in Oakland for the Harborside rally. Must have been a few hundred showed up and let's just say that pres Obama's stance on shutting down the state legal dispensaries has hit the point of beyond pissed off. Personally I look at Harborside as what would have been a shining example of how to stay compliant with state law but since this is not the forum to go into that little disparity I won't do so here.

Good to be home and a special high to Buck, Spliff and Brother Jericho who can right a ship.

my friends from Pharmer Hydro, a local shop, were at the expo too; tomorrow i get to see what kinda goodies they might have been able to bring back up for me! hopefully i can make it to the next big expo personally...

also, thanks for that link to Peggy's site. i took a quick peek, and so far i like it! i was just talking with some friends yesterday that schools should make a sort of gardening/ag/hort class part of the required curriculum for graduation. everyone needs food, and if everyone was made to have a better understanding of where healthy food comes from before getting out of high school... well, imagine how so many things might be so much different (and better off).

i appreciate your input on my ladies scrog is certainly the way to go; and i have been thinking of grooming out a monster for next year's outdoor season that will take 4 of more of those grids, or perhaps just a re-purposed volleyball net rawr!

and yes, my ladies are all organic. i abide by the meme that "organic is like pregnant; you are or you aren't." i don't know who started it, but i like it and agree. of course, i understand that "organic" (ie: derived from the organic processes that are reliant upon living organisms) applies to sources of non-mineral plant essentials vs the metal chelated versions of N-P-K that monsanto/miracle grow/etc peddles.

i started with Bio Canna's full line on my last grow. and i've been playing with other OMRI listed things, but so far, i gotta say i prefer using the Down To Earth dry amendments in my own AACTs.

I'm not from the Portland area but not to far off. I live in central Oregon but grew up outside Salem. As for the old strains I have friends that still run them and can get a cuts of either easy. I think TGA strains are good I just don't like the growth patterns of the ones I have. My buddy has cheese quake and crazy train and I like the way those grow. It's a strain thing if you know what I mean. I have been using some local organic nutes that seem to work well. The web site for the nutes is centralorganics.us if you want to check them out. Lots of interesting ingredients in this line up

i hear ya about the various growth patterns that seedbased phenos can exhibit. as for TGA, aside from the Agent Orange, I also have a Qrazy Train. i rescued it from a local club where she was all sick and yellow looking. so far, she looks to be a good veg'er but i hate the fact that she was a mid-branch cut. i'm prolly gonna veg her a little taller and then take the 2 leads that she has off and DWC them into better looking babies.

i also checked out that nute company link you gave. looks good, as they use most of what i use, as far as raw materials go. they use some that i don't and vice versa. i will, however, research the why pertaining to their selections... who knows... maybe some of those things have been waiting to get into my brews!

When I looked at other Inductive Lights (most seem to be commercial, parking lots, tunnels, etc.) they too indicated a specific temperature.

Perhaps I am confusing spectrum and color temperature? My understanding is a wide or full spectrum would cover a range of temperatures.

After reading your posts and watching your vids, I decided to give the Inda-Gro's a shot. SoCalEdison has 5 tiers of pricing, .09 to .32 per kWh. I will be in tier 5 so the 420 Inda-Gro's will pay for themselves in months vs 1000w lights.

I google mapped them to see where I was going but it listed 'Fleet Services' at that address. So I called the number and the gal answered 'Fleet Services'. Told her I was sorry, looking for Inda-Gro. She replied they were Inda-Gro too. Next thing I know Darryl is on the phone (seemed like a nice guy).

That's why I started questioning how these lights could do what others could not, but I got shot down.

Here is my story, may help explain where I am coming from:

I have never grown before. Hell I don't even smoke! I do qualify for a 'medical' card here in Cali with my scoliosis but so far I have managed that mostly with an anti-inflammatory diet.

My mother passed on 6/25/2012. Last July she got sick. Prior to that she was a super healthy and active 105 pound 71 year old. I started taking care of her and watched her waste away to 78 pounds. All the doc visits, ER trips, scans, scopes, meds, nothing saved her.

I will say this though. Last fall when she was having trouble keeping things down (even water), the only thing that kept her going was MM. My brother brought over a vaporizer and it really helped her and opened my eyes to this medicine.

She could never have grown this on her own. She was so sick and weak. She only had access to it because others were willing to grow it.

So after she passed I decided I would try to grow the best I could so others like my mom would have access to it.

Yes I am on a crash course here. My Secret Jardins and meters arrived today. Have everything except ventilation and lights.

I'm in a rush on the lights because I drove 2 hours to a friends house Saturday thinking I was getting some clones. Instead he gave me 4 one gallons, 2 Northern Lights Hawaiian and 2 AK-47's to practice with. All I have for them now is a fluorescent desk lamp

Not trying to get others to do the work for me, just trying to tap into the knowledge of others as I wrap my head around a bunch of things at once.

I just want to get off to the right start and try to avoid early and costly mistakes.
