There is a lot more to consider when plopping down a chunk of cash on a light then what the best output and spectrum is. How about serviceability, longevity, the quality, style and material of lenses, heatsinks and other internal parts, power consumption ratios, heat dispersion etc..etc..etc..

I think here in lies the confusion...the only guy in this thread to mention cfls said to the original poster that, if he's on a budget, then he should go with cfls as opposed to leds. Nobody was talking about supplementing any grow with any extra lights. Thank you for clearing up that advanced makes a "better" light, but I'm still pretty sure that some growers would disagree with your statement that blackstars are junk...they seem to perform well for the price. I agree that the technology is always changing but I honestly don't see one stand out company that is light years ahead of everyone else. Most of the reputable companies released new versions this year that are pretty even with each other. Most definitely careful research should be done before buying on all aspects, of, not only the light arrays themselves, but the company as well.

My main light is fine. I already got a 400 HPS, I need supplementation because I'm growing two generations and when my light is at the right for the 5 week old plants it will be too high for the seedlings.

i think you can buy a 288*3W led grow light for you plant.

Pretty sure Fossil works for, or gets paid to advertise for Hydro-grow LED.
