Default Eager Noob Needs Sage Advice
Hi all. Just got my medical cert. and can't wait to get started. Been trying to bone up on the essentials, but every one has their own ' can't miss' method, swearing that they have the ultimate garden. One of my friends informed me that my paltry sum of $1500-$2000 will buy me some basic equipment, but will leave me yearning for the ganja we all really desire. Can I get quality buds without spending $10,000 as my buddy informed me he did. This is what I'm thinking( but open to suggestions ):

-1000w HPS Elec. Ballast(whats the pros/cons of the Mag. ballast?)
-400w MH Floralux
-Sun Soaker
-6" Booster/Vortex (Ventilation)
-Can 50
-20lb CO2 tank & Regulator

I'm pretty sure I'll go with two 1000w HPS, along with a light mover.
What do you think? Can I grow some kind budz with that beginner system ? I sure hope so. Help if you can. Peace

Nah, it doesn't have to cost a small fortune to grow great bud. Sure you can grow kind buds w/that stuff you listed.
If you're not familiar with gardening at all, you might consider starting with only a few plants.
Twelve can be a lot of work.
Congrats and cherish the enthusiasm.

Hi from Portland...

I made this grow journal just to show folks like yourself what little it actually does take:
No room prep very simple $200 budget grow

You don't even need a portion of what you're talking about to grow, however it's sure nice to have all that stuff and the better your grow area the better your odds of success.

How much are you looking to yield? 2kw and a light mover can yield 2-4 lbs per cycle. 2kw with no light movers can also yield exactly the same just using a different grow style. A 1kw vertical setup similar to mine but done more properly can also yield 2 full pounds. My crappy setup will yield one plus.
