OK, I'm done lurking. I've joined a number of mj groups in the last few weeks, and although I don't want to play favorites, I am posting here, okay? I have seen the greatest, broadest expertise here, plus some of the most helpful people I've ever seen... reminds me of the OM (Original Mac) community in Silicon Valley (and everywhere else) in the 80s, the Guy Kawasaki "Mac Way" kind of communitarianism. It only seems to exist a few places anymore, and mj is one of them. And this site is a great exemplar of it...

Short bio: First smoked pot in Golden Gate Park in 1969, now there's a freakin' story, eh? Later that night my brother took me to Fillmore West to see Albert Collins and Jimi Hendrix. Purple Haze, all right. I spent the 70s in a sweet smelling cloud. The "superweed" back them was the Michoacan that came in the blue wrapper, not without seeds but not too seedy. Expando for sure, too. Blah blah, now it's 2009. Whoa!

I am SO happy to find you people. I am trying a first grow, after 40 years! (Of course, these days a quarter oz lasts me--get this--four months. I take a hit on Friday night, one or two Saturday night, that's it.) I could get a cannabis card in Cali here, as I have hep b & c, arthritis, etc., but why bother? I want to raise my own daughters to help their ol' man. And for that, I am posting a new thread in the "Oh Shit" forum or wherever the problems are solved. I am a new grower, but not a neophyte as I have studied your site and your top people's opinions for a solid three months now. I am hip to the science, now I need to get "the art." If you can, help me with the post I will name "Yikes, dark green but droopy" ... and thanks for letting me join. Usually (like Groucho) I wouldn't want to join any group that would have me as a member. Ha!

Sorry to ramble. I will keep things a little more succinct as I go along. Again, I can't tell you how happy I am to find you folks!

Thank you... I am going to post a "Yikes" help request in the problem area as I am on a first grow. I have to get good, because I have some music fans in Amsterdam who own one of the top seedbanks (I didn't even know until yesterday) and they are sending me 10 White Witch feminized seeds for my original CDs ... Jeez! I don't want to screw THOSE up! If you don't mind my asking, for a first (well, second) grow, what method is least risky? I do have a yard that gets 14 hours of sun and I am in the foothills east of L.A. (gets up over 100 in July and August), but would have to be in 5 gal pots/buckets. I also have good downstairs closets, lightproof already, 2 x 4.5 x 8.5 high. Whaddaya think? Anyone? If I am asking in the wrong venue or forum, my apologies...! I will post more details and try to get a pic up in the problem plant forum...
