Hey whats good folks? This is my second grow but the first of this size. Any advice will be seriously appreciated....

The room dimensions are listed in the title. I have the room kinda split. Part of the room is just for seedlings. Partly because of the fact that i have had great results with seedlings and cfl's which are the only lights i use in this part of the room. I keep the seedlings here at 18/6 for about 2 weeks. Now i know i should veg with mh but at the time it was either mh or hps so i took 2 1000w hps lights but the ballast is capable of using mh lights as well so i will get the bulbs for the second grow.. As i said earlier this is my first grow of this size and it was done kinda on the fly so i had 6 plants about 4 weeks old already. What i did was keep them in veg status but i placed the younger plants where they would get most of the light. Also i had only one of the 1000w lights running at that time. Now i am not expecting 6ft tall plants at all but the older girls might get close by time all is said and done. Pics to come...

I will show everyone respect as long as they show me the same. I wont argue and fight i will just ignore you. Now we can have a difference of opinion.. Cool... But i wont be involved in any big d**k contest if you know what i mean.. Lets be adults please.

Are you looking at growing commercially? lol thats one big grow room you have there. I don't think there is any adivce anyone could give other than probably best doing a flood and drain system covering 70 odd plants.... definetly possible + more in that size

BAKED TO PERFECTION

Just a happy accident...

Today was the first day i had everything running full blast and heres how that went. All of the bulbs fired no prob., ran for about 15mins and the circuit breaker cut off. The first thing i did was checked the amp ratings for all of the fans and shut off the ones i thought i was getting the least out of. IE Higher amps and not much wind. I think a fridge "with nothing in it so speak of" may be on the same circuit though i will double check on Monday. Second i am not happy with the temps at all without more fans running or something else being done. I have no heating or electrical contracting experience. Now i can wait till the second grow and get a small portable ac unit. Any ideas??? This is not a commercial grow so any accident not resulting in a house fire or a total loss will be approached as a lesson learned. In other words,its cool.

I just checked portable ac units and i found a couple on craigslist for a reasonable price. I wonder if one thats 9000 btu can cool a room of this size from 95% to 80-84%?

Sounds like yas got room to grow! More details on the setup. Soil or hydro? What amp breaker you using? ballast 120 or 240? 4- 1Kw lights 30 amps running on 240.

I am growing with soil. I think the heat problems are solved. How many btus needed to cool a room of my size?

To use it, choose a temperature along the x axis, and go up a vertical line until you hit the relative humidity of the air you're interested in heating (the relative humidities are the curved red lines on the chart). Estimate the enthalpy of the air you're starting with (the black diagonal lines sloping from right to left, in this chart given in SI units). Draw a horizontal line to the right (for heating), until you're over the final temerpature. Estimate the enthalpy of this air as you did with the begining condition.

The difference between the two enthalpies gives you the amount of heat you must apply to the air at a given humidity to raise it to the final temperature. Note that this is based on the weight of the air. Naturally, as it heats it expands, so the actual volume goes up, and you will need to convert the SI units to get BTUs. Generally, 1064 Joules = 1 BTU
